Review your process regularly to continue to improve!
🤓
Part of streamlining any process is making mistakes and learning from them. Each time you hire a new , your process will improve if you put time and effort into building on previous knowledge and experience. One way you can get some extra perspective is to create a survey for incoming doctors as well as any team members who contribute to your onboarding process. Ask them what they thought of the process, what they would change, and what they would keep the same.

A smooth and efficient onboarding is the goal for anyone, right? Well, we have compiled a few tips and tricks we found while researching and developing our road map for the process that we will share throughout the month...starting with the first phase. We feel that transparency and frequent communication with every step of the process eliminates that feeling!

Depending on the body, organization, or person, you may need to write to them, fax them, email them, telephone them, or use a website. Also, use reliable secondary sources. While you should not rely on secondary sources entirely, there are certain instances where you may need to. If a hospital or employer closes, you may not be able to contact them directly. These cases require a bit of searching on your part.

For references from peers or employers, an individual would be your primary source. You must communicate directly with this person to ask them questions about their reference and their professional relationship with the physician you hire. This will allow you to verify any information provided and determine if they worked closely enough with your new physician to provide a professional recommendation. We can help 😉

Onboarding a new physician into your workplace requires lots of documentation, verification, and paperwork. To ensure that the information provided is accurate, primary source verification is the most rigorous standard. Using secondary sources in the credentialing process is not as reliable because of the potential for bias or inaccuracy. Tracking down primary sources, especially if they are not easily accessible, can feel complicated or lengthy. Let us walk you through the importance of primary source verification and how to find credible sources 🤓
