Goal setting was the phrase of the week. Sometimes we work with students who can’t work on setting goals when they are distracted by the details in their lives which are out of their control. How can they build their future without the freedom to focus? Last week, one of our mentees got to take sometime apart from the distractions to talk and build! There’s no shame in playing as hard as we work!

We often ask the youth “What am I (we) here”? We let them go for it and they aren’t too far of why we come to do what we do. But l we tell them that we’re ultimately here to help them become the best version of themselves. And they may or may not know what that is, we just help them explore their strengths to make them better and their weaknesses to close the gap.
