We see a lot of "what is EQ" content out there. What actually helps is knowing what it looks like in practice. Here are the 9 behaviors that consistently show up in high-EQ leaders, especially when things get hard. Which one do you think is most undervalued?

Here's a data point that still stops us when we see it: 76% of people weren't raised in a home where emotions were openly discussed. And then we wonder why it's so hard to navigate conflict, tension, and pressure at work.

What's one moment where you wish you'd had better tools for working with the emotional tension in the room?

For anyone who missed yesterday’s session — one line that’s sticking: friction that goes unaddressed doesn’t go away. It goes underground. The recording is at TalentSmartEQ.com.

Friction Isn’t the Problem. It’s the Signal.

In the latest episode of Ask Dimyas, Dimyas shares why emotionally intelligent leaders don’t rush to eliminate friction, they pay attention to it. Tension in meetings, avoided conversations, and pressure during change often reveal deeper issues that need awareness, not avoidance.

Dimyas breaks down the three questions he asks when friction shows up and how self-aware leaders use conflict to create clarity, growth, and stronger connection.

Today we honor the men and women who have given everything for our country. We’re so grateful for the military leaders and veterans we have the privilege of working with, and for their service, sacrifice, and strength. Thank you.

If you can’t measure it, it’s hard to sustain it.

One of the biggest gaps in leadership development isn’t training. It’s visibility.

Organizations invest in development…but don’t always have a clear way to track:

• what’s improving
• where gaps still exist
• whether behavior is actually changing

That’s where most programs lose momentum.

The organizations seeing the strongest results are doing two things:

1. Measuring emotional intelligence upfront
2. Measuring it again after development

That second step is where real insight comes from.

It shows what changed.
It highlights what still needs work.
And it makes progress visible.

That’s why our programs include a complimentary EQ re-test (self and multi-rater), so organizations can track growth and impact.

How are you measuring the impact of leadership development today?
