ANNOUNCEMENT: A Give-Back Initiative for Our Veterans

For years, I’ve watched how beautifully military values translate into the non-medical home care industry. Service. Discipline. Integrity. Follow-through. Mission before self.

These are the traits that make an exceptional business developer and they’re the traits our Veterans live every day.

That’s why Senior Care Sales Solutions is incredibly proud to announce a complimentary Virtual Senior Care Sales Solutions Academy, to transitioning Veterans and Reserve service members who want to build a meaningful, mission-driven civilian career.

This is a marketing, business development sales course and it's an empowerment initiative for our Nation's Veterans.

We’re opening our full Virtual Senior Care Sales Solutions Academy to help Veterans become qualified, confident, and career-ready business developers in the non-medical home care industry because when a Veteran steps into this role, it's not just a job change.

It’s a continuation of service, just different focused service on supporting aging adults, strengthening families, and improving lives in their communities.

What participating Veterans will gain:

A full understanding of the non-medical home care landscape.

Skills to build referral relationships grounded in trust & consistency.

Business development strategies proven across many agencies nationwide.

Communication frameworks rooted in emotional intelligence.

Career guidance for entering the senior care sector with confidence.

Access to recruiting firms specifically focused on providing talent to the senior care industry.

Access to home care agencies currently looking for business development talent.

We are doing this because Veterans spent years protecting and supporting others. This is our opportunity to support them and help them step into roles where their values, leadership, and discipline become life-changing assets for families in need.

If you’re a transitioning Veteran, a Reserve service member, or someone who supports them, I invite you to connect with me or comment “INFO” and I’ll send details your way.

This is a give-back initiative straight from the heart of the Senior Care Sales Solutions team. Because service doesn’t end, it evolves. The home care industry needs leaders like you.

Thank you for your service. Let’s empower your next mission!

Any other Veterans out there that used to feel they were invincible, but now in our 40’s just like the older Vets warned us about are now feeling the bodily physical pain? Such as neck pain where sometimes hurts to turn to the left or right? Such as a pain in the far upper back that somehow shoots down into the shoulder blade and onto the actual shoulder where it’s painful to lift your arm? Just curious.

Honoring Elder Veterans: Protecting Their Right to Choose Their Care

Every generation of veterans has made unimaginable sacrifices to protect our freedoms. They’ve faced battlefields abroad and challenges at home, defending the very principles of choice, independence, and dignity. Yet today, many elder veterans find themselves fighting a different battle: the right to choose who provides their in-home support.

The issue isn’t whether care should be provided—our veterans earned that right. The challenge lies in ensuring veterans have a voice in choosing the caregiving agency that walks into their homes, prepares their meals, and supports them in their most vulnerable moments.

They Earned the Right to Decide

For decades, men and women in uniform have served this country with courage and selflessness. They sacrificed time with their families, risked their health, and gave their youth so future generations could live free. That freedom must extend to decisions about their own care as they age.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides a list of approved home care agencies that meet specific quality and compliance standards. But within that list, veterans deserve the power to choose which agency feels right for them. After all, caregiving is deeply personal—it’s about relationships, trust, and dignity.

Being told which agency must enter their home, even when other qualified and approved options exist, strips veterans of the autonomy they fought to protect.

The Human Side of Care

In-home care is about far more than daily assistance. It’s about:

Trust: Veterans must feel safe with the caregivers who enter their homes.

Respect: Choosing a provider who aligns with their preferences and cultural values matters.

Continuity: Building long-term relationships with caregivers creates stability and reduces stress.

When veterans can’t choose their care provider, they lose the ability to control one of the most intimate aspects of their lives. That’s not just a policy concern—it’s a human dignity issue.

Empowering Veterans, Supporting Families

The VA’s approved provider list is designed to ensure quality and safety, but choice within that list is critical. By empowering veterans to select their preferred caregiving agency:

We honor their service by respecting their autonomy.

We strengthen trust between veterans, families, and care providers.

We improve outcomes by allowing veterans to work with agencies that best meet their unique needs.

Veterans earned these benefits through their sacrifice. Giving them a meaningful voice in selecting their in-home support is the least we can do.

As advocates, families, and community members, we must raise awareness around this issue and ensure that elder veterans are not stripped of the dignity they fought to protect. Policies and processes must always center on veteran choice—because every veteran’s needs, preferences, and values are unique.

If you or a loved one is navigating in-home care through the VA, remember this:

You have the right to choose any caregiving agency on the VA’s approved list.

Ask questions. Know your options. Advocate fiercely.

Our veterans protected our freedoms. It’s time we protect their freedom of choice so long it’s within the rules.

To the brave souls who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom—we honor you not just with folded flags and moments of silence, but with the lives we choose to live because of you.

For many veterans, Memorial Day is not just a holiday—it’s a heavy day. A day that brings back faces, names, and moments that never leave the heart. If you carry that weight, please hear this: you are not alone. And while sorrow may visit, we must not let it stay too long. Because those who are no longer with us would not want us to stay in the shadows of grief, but to rise in the light of purpose.

Let us live—boldly and gratefully. Let us laugh, love, build, and serve in their honor. Let us be the living legacy of those who never came home. Not out of obligation, but out of reverence. We owe it to them to keep going. To make this freedom count.

So this Memorial Day, take a moment to remember. But then, take a breath—and live again.

Please, on Monday…set aside any political differences and take a moment to honor the men and women who were willing to literally die for this country and you. It doesn’t matter your beliefs. They did it for their buddies and you. That’s what was in their hearts.

North County Veterans Stand Down is actively seeking sponsorships to continue carrying out their mission! I just signed up. Will you join me in the spirit of never forgetting 9/11/2001 and honoring the American Spirit.

Today we honor those lost, the American Spirit, those lost in subsequent battles overseas, those significant others and children who served by default, the battles lost by Veterans once home…
Let’s honor those still with us by supporting the important work of North County Veterans Stand Down

North County Veterans Stand Down is an annual four-day event in Vista, California, that enables ALL veterans throughout San Diego County to receive much-needed services in a safe, friendly, drug-free, and secure environment.

They are a grassroots volunteer organization that serves ALL veterans in whatever state of life they are in, whether they are transitioning from the military, temporarily challenged by life, or otherwise on the road to success. Wherever a Veteran is in life, they strive to help them make it better.

They do what they do because they are veterans and family members of veterans who are grateful for those who have served our country and feel the need to help them succeed in life. If you feel the same way want to do something about it, please contact us at 866-535-2038 or [email protected].

Stand Down is a military term designating that a combat unit has temporarily moved out of the field and back to base camp for rest and rehabilitation. Homeless veterans are, in some ways, comparable to soldiers in a war zone – living exposed in the field, surviving by their wits with limited ratio...

ELIMINATE THE “MIDDLE AGE MIDDLE SCHOOL” – Creating Culture, and Eliminating the DRAMA

TOPIC: Creating, Maintaining and Protecting the best possible culture for growth and balance

How would you answer these:

What is culture in a company?
What is my culture?
Why is there drama amongst the team?
How can I “confront an unacceptable situation without being confrontational?”

Join me as I host a Webinar to answer these, and so many more
workplace disturbance questions with my special guest, Patrick Kagan. Patrick is a world-renowned author, podcast host, and leadership coach, and he has agreed to spend a few hours
with me and my guests from the senior care industry, with a focus group conversation, and more importantly, strategies and answers to our specific questions and challenges when it comes to workplace culture, office drama, and as he puts it….
