One of my roofed entry gates, this one with a curved roof, and some outdoor shoji work, in a garden designed And installed by Kohei Owatari of Modern Zen Gardens.
The two main posts and most of the roof structure are clear, all heart California Redwood, while the gates made using clear vertical grain western red cedar.

This is the biggest torii I’ve ever built, the Kit part anyway! We shipped it up to Northern California to a severe wildfire zone. This is a custom design, large enough both ways so that County fire trucks could pass thru.

Building in San Diego since 1976, early on I focused on doing fine custom Outdoor Living Projects where I could be creative and work with nice timbers and natural materials. We install all over Southern California and beyond and also ship high quality Kits anywhere,

I call some of my work but that's only what inspired me. I take what I love about the : the proportions, balance and harmony I feel, and then figure out how to build it using Western methods and techniques!
