Worked with a team of new leaders at a major international tech company today. Admist all of the AI changes in the workplace, they hold firm to a strategic approach… retaining talent through strong and supportive leadership. Performance Management is the focus today. They created Job Descriptions, trained each other and provided supportive feedback….working with origami was a highlight.

So many laughs. That lights me up. Laughing and learning. Participants were feverishly taking notes. Like their eagerness to learn.

Designed and delivered a Change Management program for a major university’s key staff and leadership now under new senior leadership, addressing AI-driven changes, shifts in resource availability, retention of high performers and building adaptablity. The attendees actively participated, questioning changes and concepts, and developing individual and team change management plans. The attendees were on their game…Questioning changes, concepts and creating change management plans individually and for their teams.

Public Speaking, Facilitation, and Corporate Training: Choosing the Right Approach for the Right Outcome

Why understanding the difference can improve learning, collaboration, engagement, and results.

Not Every Audience Needs the Same Experience

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that different objectives require different delivery approaches.

Years of client work across leadership development, organizational development, workplace learning, executive facilitation, keynote speaking, and coaching have taught me something important: not every audience needs the same type of delivery. Organizations often group speaking, training, facilitation, coaching, and presentations together because all involve someone standing in front of a room communicating.

The reality is very different. Each delivery style serves as a unique intervention designed to achieve a different outcome.

Throughout my career, opportunities allowed me to deliver each of these engagement styles. Mistakes throughout that same journey also taught me when not to use each one. Those lessons shaped me tremendously.

Death by PowerPoint? Re-framing Visual Learning Tools to Light Up Learning

Why visual design should support engagement, not compete with it.

Most learning challenges are not caused by the tool itself but by how the tool is used.

We’ve most likely heard the phrase “death by PowerPoint.” I have learned to understand why.

Several years ago, I worked with a client whose slides contained nearly every word they planned to say. Part of that was driven by legal requirements because participants needed a detailed reference document after the session. The challenge was that those slides were being used as both a presentation and a takeaway resource. Over time, I’ve learned those are two very different purposes.

When learners try to read dense slides while simultaneously listening to a facilitator, attention becomes divided. The audience begins choosing whether to read or listen because doing both well becomes difficult.

The issue wasn’t PowerPoint. The issue was how the tool was being used.

Human-Centered Transformation in the Age of AI: Why Technology Alone Won’t Drive Lasting Change

Why leadership, trust, and human behavior remain the foundation of workforce transformation.

Organizations may invest in technology, but employees ultimately determine whether transformation succeeds or fails.

At times, it seems every conference, article, and executive discussion is focused on AI, automation, and the future of work right now. It is the bees’ knees today.

These conversations definitely matter. Technology is exponentially reshaping operational systems, customer expectations, and workforce capability requirements. Yet one reality continues standing out across every industry I work with, and I stand by this: human-centered leadership has never mattered more.

Organizations often assume technology alone creates transformation. Not true. Technology accelerates systems, while people determine whether those systems succeed or fail.

From Strategy to Results: Closing the Leadership Alignment Gap

Why Employee Experience and Operational Excellence Matter More Than Most Leaders Realize

Most organizations do not have a strategy problem. They have an ex*****on problem hiding behind leadership meetings, overloaded calendars, and disconnected priorities.

Somewhere between the executive vision and the frontline experience, the strategy slowly loses oxygen. Leaders become frustrated. Employees become confused. Customers eventually experience the inconsistency.

Across industries, I continue to see the same pattern during organizational development and change management engagements. Executive teams create strong goals, thoughtful initiatives, and ambitious transformation plans. Then operational realities take over. Communication rhythms become inconsistent. Accountability varies across departments. Teams begin protecting their own priorities instead of supporting enterprise outcomes. Ultimately, strategy ex*****on becomes reactive rather than intentional.

Organizational Transformation Isn’t a Training Problem: Why Leadership Alignment, Culture Reinforcement, and Strategy Ex*****on Drive Lasting Change

Why leadership alignment, culture reinforcement, and strategy ex*****on matter more than another workshop.

Many organizations invest heavily in training when the real challenge is alignment.

Most organizations don’t have a training problem. They have an alignment problem. Leaders invest thousands of dollars in workshops, coaching programs, communication courses, and development initiatives hoping to improve performance. Yet months later, many of the same challenges remain. Accountability is inconsistent. Collaboration breaks down. Customer experiences vary. Engagement struggles to improve.

The issue often isn’t what employees know—it’s whether the organization has created the conditions that allow people to consistently apply what they know.

Awesome day facilitating a custom simulation Teambuilding event for a leadership retreat. Worked with the client to identify core needs and collaborated to roll out a program that “hit home” for participants. I had to also say this was an amazing space and the people were quite attentive and professional. They were able to make adjustments on the spot to support an amazing outcome.

I stand by it. Learning happens much more when people have fun.
