On the morning of 14 July 1789, the city of Paris was in a state of alarm.

The common people were determined to overthrow tyranny. Almost a thousand towns folk stormed the garrisoned Medieval fortress (The Bastille). 98 attackers and 1 defender died in the actual battle, followed by lynchings, beheadings, and other autrocities upon the keepers of the Bastille. They then marched thru the streets of Paris with severed heads held high on pikes.

On the morning of July 15, King Louis XVI called for his commanders to back down and agreed to remove Jacque Necker from the position of minister of finance and implement reform. Neckers tax reform favored the nobles and the rich which did not sit well with the common people who were starving and hadn't even any bread. You may recall Queen Marie Antoinette stating in response to the pleas of the starving people, "Let them eat cake."

The nobles of France began to flee the country seeing this as the beginning of the end and the power being given to the common people.

Louis XVI was the last king of France before the fall of the monarchy during the French Revolution. He was referred to as Citizen Louis Capet during the four months just before he was executed by guillotine.

Today, Bastille Day is meant to symbolize peace.

I am pleased and honored to join in the Fight For Freedom and to support this event and screening!

No one should be denied the right to freedom, and should be allowed to dream and live their life far from the atrocities of human trafficking.

Thru my photography of LainScapes, I strive to share the beauty that exists in the world. However, the fact remains that there is an ugly side as well. Mankind is often the worst animal on this planet, yet it is also the most capable animal on this planet to eliminate the horrors it has created.

Please join me in the Fight For Freedom to rid the planet of Human Trafficking.

It should be on everyone's BucketList to make this world a better place!

I make my exodus from the steel skyscrapers of downtown Seoul and head outward to chase the rising sun, to redeem my Seoul lost in the city and I bathe in the beauty of a new day that I find is just beyond the fence which still contains me.

BALI SUNSET by Eddie Lain . In the day it played, now the sun is tired and must rest. It will rise again, welcoming another day of play. Our lives parallel this the same, with each day we breathe, each day we soak in the sun, the essence of life itself, the energy it grants us. One day, night will permeate our forever, the sun will have faded. Our voice no longer heard, our breath taken away. For our now is to always fall to the past, our future rushes into the now, and our past stays as our shadow. Every second matters. Chase the sun and witness every sunset, enjoy the painted skies, love the moments you’re in, and appreciate the relationships you’ve made while the sunlight warms your heart.

After a few months away from home visiting many amazing places on this planet, I'm finally back in California. Dreaming in my own bed, and trippin' about all the amazing places I've been fortunate enough to have visited.

Try it. Leave your couch behind and head out on an adventure! It does a body (and a mind) good!
