A few years ago a client told me about and it wasn’t until a few months ago I found it again…and let me tell you when I found it this time? I was like an egg cracked open on the side of a bowl.. everything spilled out! It was the most validating assessment I’ve ever taken! I finally felt understood. It was like I was given a permission slip to be myself. I learned that I had been operating in the wrong design my whole life based on conditioning factors. Over the past year I’ve been undoing all the doing and MAN I can’t begin to tell you how free and solid I feel now that I can see clearly. Today I was able to share my learnings to a group of people about how understanding our operating system (our human design type) is essential to our personal development and growth. We keep trying all these things in order to better ourselves but we struggle to sustain them..why? Because we don’t build a relationship with ourselves by understanding who we are preconditioning. We just adopt the labels other people have given us and let that determine who we are. Have you ever stopped to question if their labels were correct??? I had so much fun sharing with the WLC SE Division at today and I know there is just so much more coming in regards to Human Design!! If you’re curious, I’m a projector! If you’ve done your assessment, what is your design type?

Today I led a workshop for coaches regarding discovery calls with potential clients…aka sales calls. The consensus from the group was that these calls can feel uncomfortable and icky especially at the end when talking about pricing. For most of us in the coaching business this is uncomfortable because we are authentic service oriented folk who truly don’t want to come across like pushy sales people.

So if you’ve ever felt this way here are 4 tips I shared in the workshop:

1. Get in touch with your intention of the call- I go into it thinking about how can I help this person be the best version of themself. This truly about building a relationship with someone.
2. Remind yourself that discovery calls are just educational calls for both you and the prospect- it doesn’t and may not be the right fit for so many reasons.
3. Which brings me to my next point: it’s not about you! Think about when you’ve had to make big decisions (especially if there was a $$$ next to it) - it’s a process and the client truly has to be ready, willing, and able to move forward.
4. And lastly, psych yourself up before the call… what I find most often with my clients is that they either oversell or undersell themselves due to lack of confidence and inadequacy. Set the mood, play your “walk up” song and COACH YOURSELF out of your limiting beliefs.

Anything you’d add to this list? 🤔

After over 5 months away I’ve stepped back into my office!

But truthfully… I feel like I’ve been away much longer.

Over the past year and a half I’ve had many big life changes that I went through which pulled me away from working like I was at one time.

First, when we decided to move to Atlanta back in July 2021 my life got completely uprooted.

Launches that I had planned took a halt, ideas that I was about to put into reality stopped, and my focus became solely about getting us to the other side of the country.

In January 2022 I found out I was pregnant with baby 2 so my focus shifted once again.

And then just a few months later in March…our newly turned 2 year old was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

From there I was gungho on getting him support and the right therapies while also taking care of the growing GIRL inside my belly.

Lastly, our daughter’s due date was September 25th and she ended up coming on August 19 — almost 6 weeks early and spent 18 days in the NICU.

So here we are, in 2023 and I’m back in the office…part time.

My focus is still divided and truthfully I’m ok with that.

I wish I could say that I’m clearer than ever but I’m still working through the kinks.

I’m still processing his ASD diagnosis, postpartum round 2, dividing my time between my children and myself.

I am stepping back in slowly. Reconnecting to old projects, consulting work, and clients 1 by 1…it feels so good to be back!

Hey there! It’s been a minute since my last post. I’ve been knee deep in motherhood, business, and life. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with you and sharing what I’ve been up to.

The world has changed a lot since our last connection.

One big change has been The Great Resignation, especially among women who are leaving the workforce in large numbers. To address this, I decided to join forces with , another coach, helping to find solutions for the same population of motivated women.

After many months supporting each other, we realized we had the same vision and wanted to build a business for women to thrive in their personal and professional lives. We kept seeing the same struggles in our clients: burnout, not feeling good enough at work or home, the silent load of motherhood and the lack of a meaningful flexible career…To address this, we created something new…

Introducing, The Great Reevaluation (TGRE) Project .project :

Because of this major shift in the world (and let’s be real - motherhood changes us too!) It made us reevaluate our lives.

Many of us are asking… Who am I? What do I want? And, how can I make this happen?

However, as much as we want to support women diving into their dreams, we are aware of how full our plates currently are. Answering those questions and making “it” happen, can be daunting and overwhelming.

So this is where we come in, we empower women to know who they are, to believe they are worthy of having what they want, and to take confident action to create it, especially as it relates to ending burnout and creating fulfilling careers.

We offer community, 1:1 coaching, programs relating to your personal and professional pursuits, and corporate consulting.

A week and then some behind due to school closures.

Tired eyes + mascara from yesterday.

Depleted body…not even coffee is helping today. Maybe I need another cup? 🤣

Thinking about calling it a day and watching TV buttttt also know that action untaken just means my dreams stay dreams longer.

Balancing it all while going on year 3 of the pandemic is no joke.

sent me a message about moms screaming in a field because that’s where we are now.

How are you guys? Do you feel the same? Good, bad, all the things?

Most days I’m good. Some days I’m tired. Other moments I’m having a dance party in the kitchen or moving furniture around…which probably contributes to my energy depletion 😆

Today is one of those days that I’m just zapped.

And that’s ok, because it’s life and tomorrow is another day.

Point? Meet yourself where you are.

Practice self-compassion.

Being 100% all the time especially when you have multiple things pulling on you is virtually impossible.

Your expectations of the day and what “should” be happening need to be what is currently presented to you.

You got this friend 💫

Where have you been?

This question floated into my DMs and I thought I’d take the time to say hi and show up for y’all…

Yes, I say y’all now but to be fair I’ve said y’all since my sophomore year of college as my roommates were all from the south.

Beyond settling into Georgia life I’ve been knee deep in reflection and inspired action.

I am still coaching one on one and recording podcast episodes behind the scenes.

I’m extremely excited about where my career is right now.

A big change this year is that I am limiting my 1-1 client load in order to make room for other goals.

In the last few months, I’ve joined forces with another coach and we are building a program around womanhood, emotional intelligence, performance, and the mind body spirit. This program will be applicable to enterprise clients as well as our entrepreneur folk.

I also started consulting at a start up company up in NYC. There I’ll be doing some very innovative and creative work while hanging along side brilliant minds.

And later this year I’ll be doing some other projects but I’ll just leave those to your imagination right now :)

In this new season of both the podcast and my work I’ve been really digging into the idea of: MENTAL TRAINING…

I keep asking these questions…
Why do some people succeed and others fail?
Why do some people see the light and others live in the dark?
Why are some people mentally stronger than others?

I am fascinated with human resilience + motivation (duh- I’m a psychologist ha!)

It first came to me after witnessing one friend constantly struggle and the other remain lighthearted and positive during hard times.

Of course nature has something to do with it but I was also curious about how nurture comes into play.

Is resilience learned? Can you mentally train?

Well of course- look at pro athletes!

I became extremely interested in those elements… So I created the 5 pillar model around mental training.

This upcoming podcast season will be centered around these 5 elements and I’ll have experts from these pillars teach YOU how to become mentally strong.

Look for the launch of season 3 episode 1 in the next few weeks! 💫

Let me tell you a secret…

It’s true what they say that what you are seeking is also seeking you.

It’s also true that if you are not in a headspace to receive it you won’t see it.

If your head, heart, and action aren’t in the game you won’t be able to see the beauty of alignment around you.

Want to know how I know this is accurate?

A few weeks ago I felt truly lost…like a tornado unsure of where to touch down.

And then I picked a spot. It didn’t matter where I just chose to explore.

I decided to listen to my inner wisdom rather than the nonsense chatter in my head.

I dug into what I heard…

And within a week emails and phone calls popped up aligning to my inner desires.

Is it magic?

No.

Does it feel like it?

Yes.

Why?

Because you are a magnificent powerful being…if you allow yourself to be one.

More often than not we hold ourselves back with the thoughts and feelings we aren’t good enough. Someone is better. That our hopes and dreams aren’t possible because they seem just so far away.

The key isn’t to live in the big picture (yes, keep it close to your heart) but it’s too take small tiny steps that move you toward the dream. And honestly sometimes it might not feel connected or right and you may doubt yourself along the way.

But imperfect action is better than no action.

Trust yourself because you are the magic. 💫

CLARITY BOMBS.

You know. Those moments that ideas or direction become so clear.

This last one came after a run on one of my favorite trails.

But when I got home, everything felt muddled again.

Chats with Jarrod, a poopy diaper, notifications from instagram all brought me back to reality.

So how do we extend those fleeting moments into longer more sustained energy… write them down.

When I was at the end of the run I wrote the following notes:

“Do something about it” and “Carrie, Wendy, Brene, and Jane”…. The details I won’t bore you with but they absolutely provided me direction in my next step.

The inner wisdom was really about getting re-motivated and unstuck… and now that I’m writing this I’m not sure we are ever truly stuck — only if we see it that way.

Because if we are to look at life presently and in the moment then we are truly never stuck we are exactly where we are suppose to be.

I help a lot of clients “figure it out”… you know piece together all their skills and dreams and part of that process is feeling “lost” and having clarity bombs going off all the time.

So the next time you have that high or a split second of clarity (also might just look like intuition or inner voice) write it down so you can sit with it and explore a little deeper. ✨

Last week we celebrated 6 years of marriage and 11 years together. We started a new tradition this year: extra dirty martinis and 3 questions. The first question we asked one another was what went well this past year, where did we grow? The 2nd question was what are we still working on? And lastly, Our goals… what do we want to achieve together as a couple and a family unit ( ex: I want us to make a certain $ amount of money so we can do some home projects + travel) …and as we went through this conversation it was so obvious that self work is the epitome of it all. For example, our relationship is stronger than ever because Jarrod did some deep work on himself which resulted in showing up more authentically in our family. And now it’s my turn. The thing about self work is that it’s never really over. You’ll fill a hole only for a new one or one that was really never filled before to appear. My dad always told me, “1 + 1 = 2 not 0+1” when it came to relationships…it’s important that we grow individually as we grow in our partnerships because if we don’t they won’t be able to last. Grateful for over a decade with this incredible man, he’s absolutely a dream come true. ❤️
