Miss the school pickup, hit the revenue goal. Make the pickup, watch the month fall apart. Every week I picked which version of me got to show up, and the other one paid for it.
Then it finally landed. I wasn't bad at balance. I was running a business that only worked when I was inside of it. Every dollar had my hands on it. Every client needed my face. Every system was me.
So I stopped trying to be a better juggler and started building something that didn't need me holding all the pieces.
That's the whole shift. You are not failing at this. The model is failing you.
If the only way your business makes money is you trading your presence for it, that's not a discipline problem. It's a design problem. Design can be changed.
Five kids taught me my time is the actual asset. Everything I build now protects it, so my kids get a mom who is present and a mom who is paid.
Which one did you give up this week?
