Just across Lakka harbor from the schoolhouse featured in the series, our project is beginning to take shape on the hillside above the water.

A pretty remarkable place to work.

And if you haven’t watched Maestro in Blue, we highly recommend it—preferably in the original Greek with subtitles. 🇬🇷

We make buildings. We also make a pretty serious Sazerac.

A few times a year, we bottle a particular house recipe for friends and clients, made with High West Double Rye, Armagnac, Demerara sugar, absinthe, and Hulett’s homemade Creole bitters.

Architecture? No.

Obsessive attention to ingredients, proportion, process and detail?

We’re currently hiring for three open positions, and in reviewing hundreds of applications, we noticed a pattern in our applicant pool that felt worth sharing.

Across the three roles, 62% of applicants were born outside the United States.

These figures reflect one hiring cycle at our San Francisco office, and while our location certainly influences the applicant pool, the number of applications we received suggests the pattern is more than anecdotal.

Architecture has always been shaped by the movement of people, ideas, and experience. Our recent applicant pool was a reminder of how much the profession continues to rely on talent from around the world.

Chasing form is fun; obsessing over how materials come together is fun. But we remind ourselves that our greatest delight comes from the relationship between built form and the spaces it creates.

We are seeking a paid Summer Intern to join our San Francisco studio.

The position is intended for B.Arch and M.Arch students who have completed at least two years of study. Preference will be given to students entering their third year or beyond.

Interns work on active projects across a range of project types and phases, from conceptual design through construction. Responsibilities may include design studies, graphics and visualization, physical and digital model making, project support, and participation in client meetings, consultant coordination, site visits, and other aspects of practice.

We are looking for students with strong design, graphic communication, and model making skills. Rendering experience is a plus.
