Join MAFH as we celebrate freedom, culture, discipline, and community at the Fillmore Juneteenth Celebration on June 13!

Featured in this year’s demonstration will be the father-and-son martial arts team of KJN Pearci Bastiany Sr., 9th Degree Black Belt and Hall of Honors inductee, alongside MAFH CEO Pearci “PJ” Bastiany III, 1st Degree Black Belt and Founder of the University of Martial Arts Training and Research (UMATR). Featuring Boxing Clinic demonstrates his world-class students skills available to the community during Free Community Days Wednesdays 4-6pm.

Together, they will showcase techniques, forms, self-defense applications, weapons demonstrations, and the martial arts traditions that have helped shape generations of students through dedication, discipline, and perseverance.

For the Bastiany family, martial arts is more than a sport—it’s a lifelong commitment to personal development, community service, mentorship, and cultural empowerment. This special Juneteenth demonstration represents the passing of knowledge from one generation to the next and highlights the importance of preserving traditions while inspiring future leaders.

🗳️🇺🇸 ELECTION DAY IS HERE! 🇺🇸🗳️

Today, MAFH CEO Pearci “PJ” Bastiany III did his civic duty and cast his ballot at San Francisco City Hall.

If you haven’t voted yet, there’s still time! Polls close at 8:00 PM PST. Whether you’re dropping off your completed ballot or heading to your local polling place, make your voice heard.

The right to vote was secured through generations of sacrifice, advocacy, and struggle. Countless Americans fought to ensure free and fair elections in our democratic republic, and it is our responsibility to honor that legacy by participating in the process.

As a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., PJ recognizes the importance of our national program, “A Voteless People Is A Hopeless People.” The message remains as relevant today as ever: civic engagement is one of the most powerful tools we have to shape our communities and our future.

It was also great to run into Frater Joseph Donaldson of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Two college-educated Black Greek men committed to service, leadership, and getting out the vote.

The University of Martial Arts Training and Research (UMATR) is proud to announce our NEW SF Martial Arts Club — happening EVERY Wednesday from 4–6PM at the African American Art & Culture Complex in San Francisco… FOR FREE!

In collaboration with and , we’ll be sharing martial arts knowledge and providing community-centered training designed to build discipline, confidence, culture, and unity.

🥊 Training styles will include:
• Boxing
• Taekwondo
• Muay Thai
• And more!

We’ll be bringing together instructors from multiple martial arts backgrounds to create an empowering space for youth, adults, beginners, experienced martial artists, and the entire community.

This is bigger than training — this is about mentorship, health, self-defense, culture, and building stronger communities through martial arts.

What an incredible way to close out an amazing evening at the Sacramento Fashion Show hosted by Hello Sunshine and Mario B at the historic California State Railroad Museum.

The energy in the room was electric as Mario B took to the runway following a successful showcase that brought together fashion, culture, creativity, and community under one roof. His passion, vision, and dedication were on full display as he celebrated the culmination of a spectacular event highlighting local talent and artistic expression.

Events like these don’t happen by accident. They are the result of countless hours of planning, leadership, creativity, and commitment to providing opportunities for designers, models, artists, and entrepreneurs to shine.

🎶🔥 MAFH was honored to attend the My City, Our Music Summit 2026 at the historic Henry J. Kaiser Center — bringing together leaders in music, technology, AI, entrepreneurship, public safety, and community empowerment.

MAFH CEO Pearci “PJ” Bastiany III attended alongside Executive Director of EriCare Erica Moseley after being personally invited by Dr. Saturu Ned, featured speaker, community leader, and former member of the Black Panther Party.

The summit opened important conversations on the relationship between music, technology, culture, and community violence prevention — while also highlighting solutions rooted in creativity, education, innovation, and unity.

Big shoutout to and opening up the summit with great discussions and creating space for audience questions.

From artists and entrepreneurs to civic leaders and activists, the event showcased the power of collaboration across generations and industries to help shape a stronger future for the Bay Area.

Honoring the Dragon 🐉🥋

The MAFH team had an incredible company outing to a special Bruce Lee double feature screening of Enter the Dragon and The Big Boss at the historic Great Star Theater in San Francisco’s Chinatown, hosted by District 11 Congressional candidate Saikat Chakrabarti.

This was a meaningful moment for Master Instructor KJN Pearci Bastiany and MAFH CEO Pearci “PJ” Bastiany III — both black belts from West Coast World Martial Arts — as it was their first time ever watching Bruce Lee together in a movie theater. Bruce Lee’s legacy continues to inspire generations of martial artists, leaders, and innovators across the world.

Special shoutout to MAFH Operator & Trainer Hella Hung for bringing together martial artists for fellowship, community, and appreciation of Bruce Lee’s lasting impact on martial arts culture and cinema.
