🥋🌎 HAPPY INTERNATIONAL TAEKWONDO DAY! 🌎🥋

Today, September 4, we celebrate Taekwondo and its incredible journey from Korean martial arts tradition to a global martial art practiced by millions. September 4, 1994, marked a historic moment when the International Olympic Committee accepted Taekwondo as an official Olympic sport, paving the way for its full Olympic debut at the Sydney 2000 Games.
But for MAFH Security, Taekwondo and martial arts aren’t simply something we celebrate — they are part of our family DNA. 🥋❤️

MAFH CEO Pearci “PJ” Bastiany III is a 1st Degree Black Belt, earning his Black Belt through the Ernie Reyes’ West Coast World Martial Arts (WCWMA) family in 2019.

His martial arts journey began at just 6 years old, growing up surrounded by some of the greatest martial artists and mentors in his life:

🥋 Two Uncles: Senior Black Belts & Master Instructors within the WCWMA family
🥋 Grandmasters: KJN Ernie Reyes & KJN Tony Thompson
🥋 And an entire village of WCWMA Black Belts, instructors, teammates, and mentors who helped shape PJ’s journey from a young student into a Black Belt.

That village taught lessons that went far beyond kicks, punches, forms, and sparring.
Discipline. Respect. Perseverance. Humility. Leadership. Service.

Those principles became the foundation for the Black Belt mindset that PJ carries into MAFH today.

From martial arts training → to security → to protecting events, communities, and people — the mission remains the same: use martial arts to make people stronger, safer, and more prepared.

SECURITY AT THE R&B TOUR FINALE 🥋🛡️🎶

Tuesday, September 1, 2026 — MAFH Security was on deck at Levi’s Stadium for the FINAL stop of the R&B Tour featuring Chris Brown & Usher! 🔥

For this show, our position was stage center front, stationed at one of the most critical access points — right next to the gate responsible for the movement of the background dancers on and off stage.

It takes focus, awareness, communication, and professionalism to protect the production while allowing the show to flow seamlessly. And what a show it was! 🎤🔥

YERBA BUENA ISLAND | PORT CHICAGO 50 ⚓🏾✊🏾
Today, I visited the hilltop monument on Yerba Buena Island dedicated to the Port Chicago 50 — 50 Black enlisted sailors who were court-martialed for refusing to return to loading am******on under dangerous conditions following the devastating Port Chicago disaster of July 17, 1944.

The explosion killed 320 people, including 202 Black sailors, making it the deadliest home-front disaster of World War II.

The Port Chicago 50 story is about much more than a tragedy. It is a story about racial segregation, unsafe working conditions, military justice, courage, and the fight for equality within the United States Armed Forces.

As Chair of the Young Adult Committee of the San Francisco Branch NAACP, I believe one of our responsibilities is to make sure our history doesn’t become forgotten history.

🎥 This video series is my opportunity to share what I learned at this historic site and help bring the story of the Port Chicago 50 to a new generation.

We cannot understand where we’re going without understanding where we’ve been.

From building businesses and serving the community to advocating for public policy and developing the next generation of leaders — this MPA journey is about more than a degree. It’s about gaining the knowledge, skills, and tools to turn vision into policy and policy into action.

Grateful to attend the August San Francisco NAACP meeting at Third Baptist Church, where we had the opportunity to host SFUSD Superintendent Maria Su and engage in an important conversation about the future of public education in San Francisco.

I’m honored to serve as Chair of the NAACP San Francisco Young Adult Committee and proud to continue doing the work alongside the next generation of leaders.

Today, I also renewed my NAACP membership — recommitting myself to the mission, the movement, and the work that still needs to be done. ✊🏽

As I enter my final year of the MPA program at the University of San Francisco, I’m grateful for every opportunity to put what I’m learning into practice through community service and public leadership.
