Title: Why Genuine Kindness is a Leadership Advantage

When I was a kid, I told a friend that being nice could build up “good karma.” He liked the idea and began treating every kind act as if he were adding points to a scoreboard. At first it sounded clever, but I quickly realized something important. If kindness is only given to secure a reward, it loses its authenticity. It becomes a transaction.

Over the years I have come to see that genuine kindness has far more power. When it is expressed freely, without any hidden agenda, people feel it. It builds trust, lowers resistance, and strengthens relationships in a way no calculated gesture can.

Leaders who live this truth often discover that kindness itself is the reward. It makes the heart smile. It creates a sense of ease and confidence in the moment. And when leaders embody that state, people around them respond in lasting ways. Teams become more loyal, collaboration feels lighter, and influence flows naturally.

This is one of the qualities I emphasize in the approach I am developing for my hypnotherapy work with executives. The goal is not about stacking points or chasing outcomes. It is about cultivating authentic presence that can be sensed the moment you walk into the room.

The lesson is simple. Transactional kindness has limits. Genuine kindness does not. And for leaders who want lasting influence, that difference changes everything.
