"Fall in LOVE with the PROBLEM, not the solution" I have said this at many mentoring sessions I participate at Founders Institute and other startup/product ecosystems (well before I stumbled upon the book with the same title at Inc on Castro Street in Mountain View, CA).

Uri Levine said this mantra got him to succeed with WAZE (sold to Google for $1.4B) and other entrepreneurial ventures well before he wrote his MUST read book with same title.

It was great to finally meet Uri Levine at the Leavey Eminent Author Series at Santa Clara University.

Most leadership advice says: empower your team. But empowerment without judgment often leads to either micromanagement or abdication.

Great leaders adapt their style based on two signals: capability and confidence.
Direct, coach, support, or delegate -> depending on what each leader needs to succeed.

In the latest article in the Leading Leaders series, I explore how adaptive leadership helps CEOs scale both performance and leadership capacity.

A wonderful discussion on Leadership
- leadership is about being more of yourself
- Parenting is the quintessential act of leadership (you are going to make mistakes along the way as a parent)

Of course, I will be reflecting on this in my next blog post on Substack

Data should sharpen judgment—not enforce control.

As companies scale, dashboards multiply. But more metrics do not automatically produce better decisions.

In this fourth lever of the Leading Leaders series, I explore how effective leaders design data systems that elevate decision quality, focus on drivers—not just outcomes—and turn reporting meetings into decision forums.

Insight scales leadership. Oversight constrains it.

What if the next competitive advantage in isn’t about the biggest model or the largest GPU cluster?

My latest article discusses that:
✔️ Scale matters, but only to a point
✔️ Loss isn’t just about size and tokens
✔️ Data quality is the true AI moat

If you’re leading AI strategy in your organization, this is worth a read:

Most CEOs don’t delegate too little. They delegate the wrong thing.
Delegating tasks reduces workload. Delegating outcomes builds leaders.

In this article, I explore why great CEOs shift decision gravity away from themselves and how outcome-based delegation turns managers into owners.

Why defining success, and letting leaders choose the path, builds accountability and speed.

Recently, I had the pleasure of joining Heather Parsons on her C-Suite Secrets podcast. We dove deep into what it means to lead with human values in today’s world of AI, entrepreneurship, and business growth. It was a fantastic conversation full of insights, and I'm excited to share some of the highlights with you! Huge thanks to Heather and the team for having me on the show. 🙏

👉 Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://youtu.be/H70l0IEGuhU

Episode Highlights:
◆ From Silicon Valley to Startups: My journey from being a system software engineer in Silicon Valley to becoming a Chief Product Officer and growth strategist — and why I like to call myself a “systems thinker for growth.”
◆ Business Is Common Sense: We talk about how even the most complex industries thrive when leaders get back to basics — truly understanding their market, serving their customers, and communicating clearly.
◆ Know Your Customer — Deeply: I explain why founders must go beyond just their technology or product to understand how customers actually live and work. One memorable line from our chat: “Customers aren’t buying your product; they’re buying a solution to their problem.”
◆ The Pricing Perspective: We explore why pricing isn’t just a finance function — it’s really a reflection of how well you understand value. I share how the gap between perceived value and real value can make or break profitability.
◆ The Power of Simplicity: Heather and I discuss the power of keeping it simple — how clarity in communication (think 8th-grade reading level) leads to better customer connections and higher conversion rates.
◆ AI & the New Era of Disruption: I share why I believe GenAI is the next big revolution after the web boom, and how leaders can stay hands-on to truly understand its impact in their business.
◆ Leadership with Humanity: Drawing on examples from Satya Nadella, Steve Jobs, and my own journey, I emphasize how empathy, spirituality, and self-awareness all play a role in great leadership.

I’d love for you to check out the episode and let me know which insight resonates most with you. Happy listening, and feel free to share your thoughts!

True alignment doesn’t start with agreement — it starts with constructive disagreement that’s welcomed, explored, and resolved.
In my latest article in the Leading Leaders series, I explore how great CEOs design for dissent — turning debate into conviction and conviction into unity.
