I’m very proud and grateful to be able to support the work of Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project. FIRRP provides free legal and social services to adults and children in immigration detention, and advocates for dignity, due process, and access to justice for immigrants and refugees.

At LJB Ops, community connection isn’t an afterthought, it’s built into the foundation of my business. For every client who’s referred my way, I make a $100 donation to a nonprofit doing meaningful, on-the-ground work OR provide a $100 gift certificate to a small business of the referrer’s choice.

It’s my way of not only saying thank you, but also of keeping dollars and support circulating where it matters most. 🤍

Thank you for the work you are doing and thank you for bringing this organization to my attention and for trusting me with your network!

I know that my participation in today’s shutdown may not change much, but I also know that we are stronger together than we are alone. I stand in solidarity with Minneapolis and with everyone affected by the senseless violence that has torn families apart and taken the lives of those trying to do the right thing

Anyone else feel more like this bear than the many social media posts about the new year would make it seem?

I see you, Founders. Sometimes January represents your first real chance to take a break since early November.

If you’re not feeling recharged at this moment, you’re not alone. Remember: showing up for your business consistently in March, July, and September is more important than anything you post online today.

Take that snooze, my friend.
And if you wake up in February thinking, “I want 2026 to feel easier,” you know where to find me.

It has been an absolutely devastating weekend and - if I’m being honest - season of news.

The anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting on December 14th is one that never escapes my notice, even though we’ve had so many mass shootings before and since. Maybe because it comes right in the middle of the holiday season, a sober reminder of the violence and cruelty that threatens our world, even during times of joy and celebration. This weekend served as another reminder of that threat, with families and communities around the world now grieving the lives of their loved ones cut unnecessarily short by gun violence. My heart breaks for them and especially for the children who will inherit this world and the fight to make it a safer and kinder place.

I am old enough to remember a time before mass shootings were a regular occurrence and hope to live long enough to see that time again. We will always need to fight for a better world - that’s just the nature of being human - but we do not need to live like this. Please - in honor of those we could not save - try to do your part to curb gun violence. Talk to your children about gun safety, vote for elected officials who support common sense gun laws and if you’re able, donate to organizations working to build safer communities. Look - I spend a lot of time in the car. So when the woman's networking group I'm a part of hosts their holiday potluck IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, you know I'm going to be walking there... dragging my cooler... looking ridiculous.
Thanks for a great time, ladies of WinkedIn!
