As a three-time surrogate and former Assistant Cycle Coordinator, I'm passionate about creating I’m Beckie Henselmeier, a Surrogacy Support Agent, mom of two, and three-time surrogate passionate about walking alongside families on their path to parenthood. With a background in Education and Social Services, I bring both professional insight and lived experience to help surrogates and intended parents feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout their journeys. My role is to serve as a partner — not a replacement — to agencies, attorneys, and clinics. **Why would you want to be a surrogate?**

It’s a question worth talking about—especially with all of the conversation, opinions, and misconceptions surrounding surrogacy.

I’m not here to recruit surrogates. That isn’t my role.

But I *am* here to support the people who thoughtfully decide that surrogacy is right for them.

Because at the heart of it, **surrogacy is a choice.**

A deeply personal choice that deserves to be made with information, support, realistic expectations, and space to consider whether it’s truly the right decision for *you.*

I’ve been on both sides of that conversation—as a three-time gestational surrogate and now as someone who supports surrogates and intended parents through their journeys.

And that’s why I feel so called to this work.

I know that choosing to become a surrogate is about so much more than carrying a baby. It can involve your family, your body, your emotions, your time, your relationships, and so many decisions along the way.

That choice deserves to be respected.

Surrogacy involves a LOT of moving pieces.
There’s the agency.
The attorney.
The fertility clinic.
The medical team.
The mental health professional.
And, of course, the intended parents and surrogate at the center of it all.
But sometimes… there are still gaps.
Who helps when you’re traveling to Southern California for an appointment?
Who can help coordinate the little details?
Who can be there in person when you need an extra set of hands?
Who understands the journey and knows the local landscape?

I don't think I've ever shared the *full* rundown of my concierge support like this.

And if I'm being honest, putting it all out there comes with a little voice in my head asking:

But I also know why I created SoCal Surrogacy Support in the first place.

Because I've been there.

I've been a surrogate. Three times.

I've worked behind the scenes as a cycle coordinator.

I've supported people through difficult and deeply personal seasons as a chaplain and through my work in social services.

And now I'm taking all of those experiences and creating something I wish more people had access to during a surrogacy journey: **personal, practical, local support.**

Three surrogacy journeys changed the way I see surrogacy.

Being a surrogate taught me so much about the process itself—but it also showed me the places where there were gaps.

The moments that felt a little too transactional.
The things that fell into the “in-between.”
The times when I wished there was just… more support. More connection. More humanity.

And eventually, I started thinking:

Surrogacy comes with so many people, appointments, decisions, and moving pieces. There are professionals who each have an important role to play—and that team is essential.

But there can still be moments when you find yourself wondering what happens next, trying to figure out a logistical detail, wishing someone could be there with you, or simply needing another person who *gets it.*

I know that feeling because I’ve walked this journey myself.

That experience is a big part of why I created **SoCal Surrogacy Support**. I believe concierge support isn't about replacing the professionals already on your team. It’s about adding another layer of personalized, local, hands-on support when you need it.
