Don't forget to have your dryer vents cleaned. Poor airflow can cause lint to build up in the machine and catch fire. Luckily, this wasn't as bad as it could've been and the unit was able to be repaired.

All this for a lower door lock motor... C'mon GE engineers!

Side note: Do not use the self clean option on your oven. We call that the self-destructive button in the repair world. The high heat can cause components like this to burn out.

Had the opportunity to work on this top load Fisher & Paykel dryer today (Lid and top removed). These things were great and pretty simple to work on. Its a shame these are no longer made.

This is why it is important to always clean the lint filter in a dryer every time you use it. The lint will build up eventually making its way into the heating element and causing a fire. Dryer cleanings are $100. Give us a call! (207) 719-4034
