🔥 THE FORGE | JOHN 13

Great evening around the fire with the boys. Janver bringing a good word on servant leadership, humility, sacrifice, and living in your purpose and in your calling.

Tonight we spent time in John 13, looking at the example Jesus gave us—humility, service, love, and leadership.

Jesus showed us that real leadership isn’t about position or status. It’s about being willing to serve. He challenged His disciples to love one another the way He loved them.

⚒️ 🔥 ⚔️ That’s what The Forge is about.

Men sharpening one another.
Growing in our faith.
Learning to lead and serve like Jesus.
Leaning into who we were created by God to be.

Resolve in our eyes. Fire in our hearts. 🔥

Encourage by a book I’m listening to 🎧 on audio
God Has a Name by John Mark Comer

God’s covenant was never based on His people being perfect. It was a promise He made to His people—and even when they wandered, failed, and went astray time and time again, God remained faithful to His word.

Throughout Scripture, we see this truth again and again: God doesn’t promise His people an easy life. He promises something greater—His presence, His faithfulness, and His purpose. His covenant was not only about blessing His people, but about blessing the whole world 🌎 through His people 🕊️ 🙏🏽.

Jesus reminded us that following Him does not mean a life without hardship:

“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33

Trials will come. Difficult seasons will come. We may stumble and lose our way. But God does not change, and He does not abandon His promises.

Our calling is to remain faithful—to trust Him, follow Him, and allow His goodness to flow through our lives into our families, our communities, and the world around us.

God never promised easy. He promised faithful. 🙏🏽 📖

Not sure if one of you were dealing with something difficult, but if so, hopefully this helps you. Blessings on your journey. Share with a friend who might need to read this.

Closing prayer 🙏🏽 by Janver Holly at the August Back Porch Leadership dinner.

08/29/2026

This past Wednesday at Back Porch Leadership, Janver Holly brought a powerful message on setting goals, taking action, and consistently moving forward.

Janver challenged us to identify 3 major areas of our lives, create 8 initiatives within each area, and turn those 24 initiatives into practical weekly goals and daily action steps.

One of the biggest takeaways was his definition of success:

“Success is the pursuit of a worthy idea or goal.”

Success isn’t just arriving at the destination. There is success in the pursuit—showing up, taking the next step, staying disciplined, and continuing to move toward the man God is calling you to become.

At Back Porch Leadership, we believe leadership starts with keeping our Heavenly Father first. Set the vision. Make the plan. Take action. Stay faithful. Keep moving forward.

Huge thank you to Janver Holly for pouring into the men and bringing a great word! 👊🏼🔥 ⚔️

Sitting 📖 reading Matthew 5:3-6, slowing down to absorb it. To allow it scripture to wash over my heart, mind and soul. Reminder to pause and reflect and invite our Heavenly Father in.

If we slow down and really sit with scripture and meditate on the scripture and study it, we can see so much and learn so much.

Matthew 5:3-6 NIV.
V.3 blessed are the poor and spirit
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
V.4 blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
V.5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
V.6 blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteous,
for they will be filled.

MEANING
V.3 poor in spirit = humility, knowing their need for God
V.4 those who mourn, yes those who are sorrowful for loss or hurt. But also those who sorrow for sin (missing the mark), seeing their own faults.
V.5 meek, meaning gentle. Not weak. Strong but choose gentleness and peace. A warrior in a garden type metaphor.
V.6 Hunger and thirst for not food but for Gods will to be done Aka righteousness. Gods will be done, nothing can stop it, so they will be filled by God and be glad in His will coming to pass.

PRAYER FOR TODAY 🙏🏽

Lord, I come to you today.
I come in need of you.
I come wanting a connection with you.
Creat in me a new heart, creat in me a new mind, wash over me and cleanse me. Let my heart be more like yours. Let me love people like you love people so that they can see your love. Give me joy so that others want to be around me and in doing so they’ll be around you. Give me peace, remind me I need nothing for I have everything with you. Make me gentle so that those who are skeptical and weary about You would be comfortable around me and feel welcomed. Give me patience, allow me to slow down and live in the present moment. Thank you , a million times over for loving me and allowing me to be a part of your work and your will. Thank you for bringing me into your family and making me one of your children. May others be blessed by interacting with me because of your love and life that is in me. Use this broken vessel for your glory.

Amen. 🙏🏽

Have a blessed day fellas.
