Holiday Text Message Notifications for Delayed Pickup: Memorial Day/Labor Day

During the holiday weeks of Memorial Day and Labor Day, Monday is observed as a holiday. You can send two text messages to ensure your customers have their trash out on the correct day to minimize confusion and maximize compliance.

First Text
Send this message the night before the customer’s usual pickup day:

“Hi {{First Name}}, due to the holiday this week, your trash pickup will be delayed by one day. Please place your can at the curb the day after your usual pickup day. Thank you!”

Second Text
Send this message the day before the rescheduled pickup day:

“Hi {{First Name}}, just a reminder: your trash pickup is tomorrow morning due to the holiday delay. Please ensure your can is at the curb. Thanks!”

The Importance of Notifications

Many people might put their trash out on their regular day, only to come home and find it still there, leading to frustration. The first message preempts this by informing them of the delay. The second message serves as a reminder to ensure they place their trash can out on the correct day.
