One of the things I love most about the Healthcare Revenue Cycle (RCM) is that there are so many different ways to build a career in it.

Here is something many people don’t realize: many RCM positions do NOT require a certification.

Roles such as:
✨ Patient Registration
✨ Benefit Verification
✨ Payment Posting
✨ Accounts Receivable

are often skill-based roles where employers are looking for people who understand the processes, terminology, insurance, workflows, and how their role fits into the revenue cycle.

That’s exactly why I teach the way I do.

My goal isn’t simply to give students information. I prepare them with the knowledge and real-world skills they can use to confidently pursue opportunities in healthcare revenue cycle.

You don’t always need another certification to get started.

Sometimes you need the right knowledge, the right skills, and an opportunity to apply them. 💛

What do I love about the revenue cycle? A lot!

One of my favorite things about this field is that you don’t have to stay in one box.

You can start in patient registration, move into insurance verification, claims, denials, payment posting, accounts receivable—and continue growing from there. The knowledge you gain in one area often prepares you for the next.

And billing knowledge is transferable! Learning the billing process doesn’t limit you to one specialty. Those foundational skills can be applied across multiple specialties and healthcare settings.

Revenue cycle knowledge has opened the door for me to build a career, create additional streams of income, grow a business, and—one of my favorite parts—teach others how to do the same.

Many revenue cycle positions don’t require a certification. They require knowledge, skills, and someone willing to give you an opportunity.

That’s exactly why I teach. I want my students to understand the process, build confidence in their skills, and be prepared when that opportunity comes. 💛
