An often overlooked aspect of candle burning is overburning. Never burn your candle for over 4 hours.

Over-burning will cause soot collection which results in smoke that masks the fragrance of the candle.

The 4 hour rule of keeping the candle lit will also ensure your candle is long lasting. You will also be surprised when issues such as "my candle won't stay lit" are eliminated.

First Burn... Allow pool of wax to extend to outside rim of jar to set its "memory." Each time you burn the candle, it will "remember" to burn out to the rim. A good rule of thumb is to.. Burn one hour for every inch of your candle's diameter.
