Esteemed judges - Bert, Steve, Tody, Mike, and Michelle - had a tough job choosing the best of the best at the 1st Annual Chili & Chowder cook-off at the Throttle Club last night! A fun evening for all, including the Explorers who were busy helping throughout the evening. Kudos and thanks to all the contestants, guests, and event organizers, Kate and Ruth!

With all the fresh snow on our trails, it’s a great time to get outside! We now offer adult and youth snowshoes available to borrow for free! ❄

Stop by the Scarborough Land Trust office (25 Plaza Drive, Unit 6, Scarborough) to pick up snowshoes and find the best trails to snowshoe. For more information or check on availability, give us a call at (207) 289-1199. Snowshoes are free and available on a first-come basis (some exceptions apply).

Have you been thinking about starting a child care business but aren't sure how to find a location? Do you want to learn more about the business details of running a child care? Are you wondering how to make sure your child care business is profitable? Register for free training through the Child Care Business Lab, a program offered by Brunswick-based CEI.

With over 50 graduates who are running their own businesses, the Child Care Business Lab integrates small business start-up education with child care management & coaching through the licensing & fire marshal process. Everyone who joins will learn how to create a strong foundation for their business, write policies, create a business plan, apply for loans and much more.

The Child Care Business Lab is open to all Mainers interested in opening either a child care in their home or in a facility outside their home. The team welcomes those who would like to expand, as well.

The deadline to apply to work with CEI's Child Care Business Lab is January 9th.

The Guide is in a PDFs format and meant to be updated. If you would like to include your holiday events, specials, discounts or gift ideas in the Scarborough guide, please send your information and photos to [email protected].

There is no cost to participate and the guide is available to view on the SEDCO, Scarborough Community Chamber of Commerce and Buy Local websites. We will also be promoting the guide in the Town’s newsletter so the residents can use it as resource throughout the holiday season.

We invite you to share your creative contributions with us as we prepare to publish the 11th annual Scarborough Holiday Guide.

There is no cost to participate, and the guide will be available to view on the SEDCO, Scarborough Community Chamber of Commerce & Scarborough Buy Local websites and pages. Each year, the Board of Directors of the Scarborough Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) selects a slate of businesses to honor at their Celebration of Business. This year, the Celebration of Business took place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Black Point Inn.

The Board was pleased to announce that for 2025, they honored the following businesses:

Legacy Business: Al's of Scarborough
Project of the Year: Higgins Beach Market
Outstanding Business: Cafe Luna
Outstanding Business: Nothing Bundt Cakes

The 62,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center and medical office building is being built in the 577-acre mixed-use development’s emerging town center and will offer urgent and primary care, pediatrics and imaging and lab services.

It’s official, The Allagash Bungalow, in Scarborough, Maine, opens up on August 2nd at noon. We’re putting on the finishing touches on our 2nd location, in preparation of serving up: our award-winning beer, house-made wine and cider, cocktails on draft, all alongside a new menu from Bite Into Maine, featuring their signature lobster rolls, burgers, fries, and Parlor Ice Cream as the cherry on top.
