This summer and fall, S**o Fire Department and Age Friendly S**o are hosting another Fire Safety Bootcamp for Older Adults workshop series, designed specifically for residents aged 65 and older! Please help us spread the word by sharing this message with family members, neighbors, and friends in your life, to make sure they know how to stay safe while aging in place.
This three-part series will be held at Central Fire Station (271 North Street) and led by S**o Fire Department staff. Each session will cover important topics to help you stay safe at home and in your community, including:
• Slip, trip and fall prevention
• Home fire safety
• When (and when not) to call 911
• Enrolling in S**o’s emergency notification system, CodeRED
• Safe disposal of medications and sharps
• ...and more!
WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
Each workshop will take place from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the following dates:
• August 1, 2026
• September 5, 2026
• October 3, 2026
Participants should plan to attend all three workshops to get the full benefit of the program.
