Not all antlers are the same, this guy was growing out at a wonky angle, and the other side had a little unicorn point.

Attention non-residents! This fall we will be offering caping and freezing services to make transport home easier. You’ll receive your antler cap back along with your frozen cape and measurements for your local taxidermist. No stress of having to fit a whole head in a cooler, much easier to fit a pre-frozen cape. Slots and space is limited, so be sure to give me a holler. (308)-631-8654

Here was a fun project. Thought of it when in the duck blind watching birds feed. Here’s a few behind the scenes of what goes into a duck. Normally artificial heads can be ordered by the species, but I wanted something different that wasn’t available. I made a casting from the real head. I skinned out the bottom of the tongue and ran a rod through it that stayed attaching while casting. This ended up being the main support for the body, and ends up looking like he’s feeding along the bottom. The water was molded with clay so that I could get it to match the contours of the body and feet. Then a silicone mold was made of that. Tinted resin was then poured and attached to the body of the duck.
