Today, while writing my new guide "The Healing Blueprint™", I was listening to Viola Davis’s audiobook Finding Me, and I eventually had to turn it off.

I like Viola Davis as an actress, and I can respect that this is her story and that telling it in the rawest, most honest way may have been important for her. But I realized that I was uncomfortable with the amount of trauma and profanity I was taking in.

For a moment, I actually wondered, "Is it weird that I don’t want to finish this?"

Then I realized something.

There is a difference between being unwilling to acknowledge trauma and deciding that I don’t want to continuously consume someone else’s trauma.

Especially while I am writing something centered around healing.

I have spent enough of my life learning how trauma can settle into our thoughts, our behaviors, our relationships, and the way we see ourselves. The work I am doing now is NOT about pretending painful things didn’t happen. It is about learning how to understand what happened without allowing it to keep us emotionally living there.

And maybe that means becoming more intentional about what I allow into my emotional space, too.

I can respect someone’s story without needing to absorb all of it. I can appreciate their honesty without being the audience for every detail. I can decide that something is simply too heavy for me right now without judging the person who needed to tell it.

Maybe healing isn’t only about what we finally become willing to face.

Maybe it is also about realizing we are allowed to choose what we no longer need to carry—even when the story belongs to someone else.

We spend so much of our lives trying to change our behaviors, our habits, or even ourselves. But what if the first step isn't changing your life at all?
What if the first step is changing the way you see your life?

That's the heart behind The Healing Blueprint™.

Before we ask women to rebuild, we first help them understand. Before we ask them to let go of survival, we help them recognize why those survival responses developed in the first place. Healing begins when shame is replaced with understanding, and understanding becomes the foundation for intentional change.

I believe we cannot heal what we continue to mislabel. That's why The Healing Blueprint™ isn't just another book about healing. It's a trauma-informed framework designed to help Black women move from survival to intentional living by understanding what shaped them, strengthening what supports them, and restoring a life rooted in peace, purpose, and wholeness.

This is only the beginning, and I can't wait to share more with you.

Some books are read once. Others become companions you return to again and again.
That has been my prayer while writing The Healing Blueprint™. I didn't want to write another book filled with inspiration that fades after the last page. I wanted to create a framework women could return to in every season of life and discover something new each time they opened it.

If all goes according to plan, The Healing Blueprint™ will be released on September 1, 2026, and I can't wait to finally place it in your hands.

This isn't just the release of a book. It's the beginning of something I've been building with great intention, and I'm so grateful you're here to witness it.

Healing isn't something you find. It's something you build.
For a long time, I thought healing was something I would eventually stumble upon. The more I learned, the more I realized healing isn't an event. It's something we intentionally build, one decision at a time.
I've been quietly creating something that puts words to that belief, and I can't wait to share it with you.

I've spent the last several years building something I believe will make a lasting impact.
Not just a business. A mission.

Now I'm looking for a small group of women who believe in creating spaces where healing, compassion, and community can change lives. If that speaks to you, I'd love to share more about what I'm building and how you may be able to be a part of it.

If you're interested in learning more about becoming part of our Founding Team, comment "FOUNDATION" below, and I'll send you more information.

The Mental Cookie™ is just getting started, and I'd love to build this legacy with the right women.

There comes a point in life when we realize we don't just need more information. We need the right people to grow alongside us.

That is why I created The Soft Power House.
This is a community for women who are committed to healing, personal growth, meaningful conversations, and becoming the women they were created to be. We encourage one another, learn from one another, and remind each other that growth doesn't have to happen alone.
One of the ways we do that is through our Soft Power Reading Circle.

Our very first book is The Book of Boundaries by Melissa Urban, and I couldn't think of a better place to begin. Healthy boundaries create the space for peace, healing, healthier relationships, and intentional living. Together, we'll read, reflect, discuss what we're learning, and encourage one another as we put those lessons into practice.

Whether you're an avid reader or you're simply looking for a community where your voice matters, there is a place for you here.

If you're ready to grow alongside women who believe in healing with intention, we'd love to welcome you.

A Gentle Invitation

Over the past four weeks, I've been quietly spending a few minutes each evening reading Scripture, reflecting on one question, and writing whatever honestly comes to my heart.
I didn't begin this to create content.
I began because I wanted to become more intentional in my walk with God.
What I've discovered is that healing doesn't always happen through dramatic moments. Sometimes it happens one honest reflection at a time.

I'm sharing the first four weeks of my Soft Power Devotional™ in case you'd like to join me.
There isn't a schedule to keep.
There isn't a workbook to buy.
There isn't any pressure to write pages and pages.
Simply read the Scriptures.
Sit with the reflection question.
Write what comes to your heart.
Whether it's one sentence or one page, honesty is what matters.

If you'd like to walk through these devotionals with me, I'd love to have you here. If something speaks to you, feel free to share it in the comments. If you'd rather reflect quietly, you're welcome to do that too.

My prayer is that these devotionals create a quiet space where you can slow down, listen for God's voice, and continue becoming the woman He created you to be.
You're warmly invited. 🌿🤍
