Meet our GenNow Seattle President, Eugenie Morton! đź’™

After four years on the board, Eugenie is stepping into the role of President, bringing her passion for our mission and a deeply personal reason for giving back.

Her grandmother, Carolyn Fields, who passed away from esophageal cancer, and her aunt, Elizabeth Keller, a courageous colon cancer survivor, inspire her every day with their tenacity and love.

Through GenNow, Eugenie is helping bring young professionals together to support lifesaving research, patient care, and advocacy—and create a future where the next generation can live free from cancer.

Thank you, Eugenie, for your continued dedication and for leading our GenNow community into this next chapter! đź’™

Sometimes, the most important thing we can offer someone facing cancer is a voice on the other end of the phone.

The call is free, and someone is available day or night at 1-800-227-2345.

Our National Cancer Information Center connects callers with trained specialists who can offer information, guidance, resources, and a compassionate ear.

The call you’re hearing is a reminder of why this work matters. Whether someone has just heard the words “you have cancer,” is caring for a loved one, or has a question they don’t know who to ask, the American Cancer Society is here.

Through the GenNow, Fork Cancer, we come together to raise funds for this kind of support—so when someone reaches out, help is there.

If you or someone you love needs support, please save this number and share it: 1-800-227-2345.

And if you believe in being there for people when they need it most, join us at Fork Cancer at Block 41 in Seattle this March 11th - link to tickets in our bio 🍴💙

Please join us in welcoming Reece, our 2027 Vice President for the GenNow Seattle Chapter! 🎉

Reece shared:

“When I was 19, my mom, Bobbi Alstat, was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. Her diagnosis turned our lives upside down in ways we never could have imagined.

After college, I accepted a research position in Radiation Oncology at Mayo Clinic, working with pediatric and adult brain tumors. At the time, my mom was in remission, and we believed she had been cured. A few months after I started, she passed away in 2021 after her cancer spread to other parts of her body.

It has been a few years since she passed, and I’m ready to help others like my mom who are fighting cancer. I’m passionate about expanding cancer screenings, advancing cancer prevention, and supporting clinical research. I believe the American Cancer Society is one of the most powerful avenues for making that difference.”

We’re honored to have Reece bring his personal connection, research experience, and passion for improving the lives of people facing cancer to the GenNow Seattle Board.

Welcome to the board, Reece! đź’™

Please join us in welcoming back Mariah Monks, our 2027 Membership Director for the GenNow Seattle Chapter! 🎉

Mariah shared:

“Like so many people, cancer has reverberated through my family, friends, and loved ones. Everyone is touched by this disease in some way, and cancer continues to place far too great a burden on our country and our world.

I’m grateful for the six years I spent working for the American Cancer Society’s advocacy affiliate, Cancer Action Network, where I learned not only about the urgent need to expand access to equitable health care, but also about the tremendous, unstoppable power created when patients, survivors, and caregivers raise their voices to advocate for change.

I’m proud to serve on the ACS GenNow Seattle Board and help make the fight against cancer a priority for young professionals in our community through fundraising, awareness, and advocacy.”

We’re thrilled to have Mariah’s passion, experience, and leadership helping us grow the GenNow Seattle community and engage more young professionals in our mission with our signature event, FORK CANCER.

Welcome back to the board, Mariah! đź’™

Please join us in welcoming back Gavin Cipoletti, our 2027 Impact Director for the GenNow Seattle Chapter! 🎉

Gavin shared:

“Cancer has touched too many people, which is why I've joined the American Cancer Society to make a difference. By supporting this important work, I'm celebrating cancer survivors, honoring those we've lost, and raising critical funds to help end cancer as we know it, for everyone.

The money I raise helps fund groundbreaking research, provides vital information for those facing cancer, and supports free rides to treatment and free lodging when care is far from home.

Most of all, I know the funds raised bring hope to the people who need it most.”

We’re excited to have Gavin’s passion and leadership helping GenNow Seattle expand our impact through our signature event, FORK CANCER, and our shared mission to end cancer as we know it, for everyone.

Welcome back to the board, Gavin! đź’™
