For the past 9-10 years, I have set One Word intentions for my year. It’s been a beautiful way to bring focus to the habits, healing, and action that I want to pursue.

This year, my word is wild. It’s rooted in that playful, curious, and spontaneous part of myself.

So today, I decided to follow the Sun and work at a park, rather then at my desk. It was a rejuvenating way to bring creative inspiration to my day and get out in nature.

What can you do to connect with nature and/or bring that shift in routine to spark creativity this week?

I’m looking for ideas, so please share the recipe links!

Bonus points if it’s already gluten + dairy free, and it can cooking a crockpot (aka can cook while I do other things).

Bullet Journaling: There is nothing I’ve found that can truly replace a pen to paper. I keep returning it as a way to make my life visible and tangible.

Lately, I rediscovered bullet journaling. When I previously tried it I made it way too complicated. I found the layout I’m currently using from Sadia on YouTube and decided to give it another try.

I’m entering week 2 of using her method and am loving how simple it is and how it’s helped to organize my ideas into one place. Sticky notes and multiple notebooks can make it hard to keep track of where I wrote down which notes.

So far, I feel like I have a better grasp on what I need to get done. It’s no longer swirling around creating anxiety in my brain.

I’m looking forward to see how it continues to help me organize my life as I continue to use this method. Would you like me to keep you posted? ✌🏼

My latest read: The 12 Week Year. Time management is an area I’ve been researching and testing a lot lately. Life has been hopping, and learning how to navigate that proactively and gratefully is way more sustainable then reacting to whatever comes my way.

Intentional planning and design of my life is what allows me (and you too!) to achieve my goals.

The book talks about time blocking in 3 different categories:

✔️ Strategy Time Blocks
✔️ Buffer Time Blocks
✔️ Breakout Time Blocks

Each area is an important piece of the puzzle.

What have you learned about time management lately?

I've always been fascinated by how things are put together. As a young girl, I would dream up things to make with wood, and then my Dad would help me build them.

Ready to kick off your week? 📆

Every week I have a routine of planning out my top priority and getting my to-do's organized in . Here's a few things I keep in mind:

- What can I remove from my schedule?
- What are my top 3 for today?
- Where do I need time for self care?
- How do I feel about my workload?
- How can I help my future self?

As you look at your schedule for the week, what is one question you can ask to help you prioritize your week?

Happy Friday! 🌱

I've been thinking about how plants are so much like developing new habits lately. 🤔 How do they relate?

- Habits grow over time
- They need nurturing
- Some extra attention (aka. fertilizer) helps
- They need to be exercised

What comes to mind when you think of plants and habits?

P.S. I've partnered with to get you 15% off your first plant baby. https://bit.ly/2Z0LrlD

One of my favorite ways to read a book is through audio. This is a discovery that I've made over the past 4 years. In 2016, I incurred a mild concussion. That injury taught me a lot; prioritizing my recovery, slowing down in life, and the reality of how quickly life as we know it can change.

Since I was unable to physically read a book, my husband introduced me to the idea of listening to books. It was a way that I could still learn and engage while having my eyes closed.

Reading books by listening has now become my preferred method. Some of my latest reads are:

Me and My White Supremacy by Layla Saad
I'm Still Here by Austin Channing Brown
Have More Fun by Mandy Arioto
The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk
Make Time by Jake Knapp/John Zeratsky

It took me a while to find something I could be excited about in the mornings. I've never been a morning person. In my quest to get better at enjoying an earlier wake up time, I continued to experiment with a morning routine. 😴

I tried SO many different tactics - from the millionaire habits to setting meetings earlier. But nothing really turned on that joy of waking up earlier for me.

Until, one morning, my husband asked if I had tried milk tea before. Curiously enough, I never had so I decided to give it a try. A simple ritual of adding milk tea to my routine brought that joyful expectancy that I was looking for.

Your morning routine doesn't have to be complex. It just needs to work for you. Find that "thing" that make you smile and that you can look forward. Start your day with it! It might just be the shift that makes all the difference. 💚
