This is a message for any couples who were/is going to be getting married on the island of Maui anytime soon. The devastation from the fires are something that I don’t think most people here on the mainland understand how truly bad it is. My older sister is a wedding videographer on Maui ( ) and has been telling me that she, along with other Maui vendors, have been getting countless emails and messages from clients either asking for their deposit back, or asking questions about their upcoming weddings. Everyone needs to realize that these vendors, the people of Maui, have lost family, friends, homes, their gear and equipment and some, their lives. The only reason you should be reaching out to your Maui vendor is to ask where to donate, or to send love and support. With that being said, I would like to offer my photography services to any couples who have had their weddings affected by the fires. I know you have put time and lots of money into your dream day, and having to figure out plan b isn’t easy. If you are in WA, OR or nearby and need a photographer please reach out. I would be happy to shoot your wedding and assist you in finding other vendors to help. If you are a vendor on the mainland who wants to help in someway, please message me so I can get a list going. The people of Maui are hurting. The last thing they need is people requesting their money back while they try and figure out how to keep their business afloat, keeping their families fed and grieving such devastation. I have a link where you can personally donate to the affected families on my website, or DM me. I am hopeful this will help some of the Maui vendors so they can focus on what truly matters right now.
