Over the years many of you have followed my work through community events, civic engagement, youth programs, debates, workshops, and partnerships across Seattle and South King County.

As things continue to grow, I’m officially moving all public updates, announcements, projects, and event information over to the Robinson Collective page so everything is finally in one place.

My personal page will gradually become more limited to family and close friends, so if you’d like to continue following the work, upcoming events, and community projects, please follow the Robinson Collective page.

This includes updates connected to The Great Debate and future community initiatives now in development.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and these efforts over the years. More to come.

Summary of The Great Debate - Seattle

The Great Debate - Seattle, an event created and produced since 2013 by Julius Caesar Robinson, Owner of The Emperors Group Consulting, successfully provided a dynamic forum for candidates to connect with an audience of over 200 mostly independent voters. This year, we were honored to partner with the important community partner, We Heart Seattle.

Special thanks are due to our amazing moderators—Andrea Suarez, Cheyenne Gillooly, Jimmy Motta, Neha Nariya, Ekta Saini, and Joe Fain—for skillfully guiding the discussions. We also express our sincere appreciation to the candidates and officials who honored their commitment and participated: Rachel Savage, Councilwoman Sara Nelson, City Attorney Ann Davison, and Mayor Bruce Harrell. We were also pleased that King County Councilmembers Girmay Zahilay and Claudia Balducci appeared and debated, and we appreciate their participation.

A significant post-production discovery was that due to technical issues with in-house equipment, the first hour of the event was unfortunately not recorded. Based on direct observation during that time, Candidate Rachel Savage was received very well by the crowd. Even after being confronted on key issues, she held her own and maintained a strong, composed presence.

The event saw several schedule changes. Alexis Mercedes-Rinck declined our initial invitation, Dionne Foster opted out after having initially accepted, and Katie Wilson declined just one hour before her scheduled debate time.

The program was bolstered by supporting remarks from Washington State Senator Tina Orwall, who delivered a five-minute address from the state level perspective. Notably, Retired Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best, who was delayed for personal reasons, did attend and spoke to the crowd, voicing her support for the event and receiving a standing ovation.

This year's event was made possible by our generous sponsors: Seattle King County Realtors, IUPAT DC5, Uncle Ike's, Fremont Dock Co., AGC- Washington Chapter, Northwest Builders Alliance, Seattle Police Guild, and ABC of Western Washington. We also extend our gratitude to Craig "Hitmann" King for audio and Dancing In The Rain Media for video production.
