Hello Seattle!
We are looking for a repair tech who already knows their way around lighting repair, electrical troubleshooting, metalwork, metal finishing, and mechanical problem-solving. They have an eye for detail, color, and proportion, and can independently carry a project from diagnosis through finished repair.
This is not an entry-level role. We need someone who can contribute substantial hands-on experience from the beginning and, as our team grows, help teach and mentor other repair techs. If our next teammate can also teach us a thing or two about welding, machining, casting, or 3D printing, big bonus points.
The questions in this post are intentionally open-ended. They aren't our interview questions, but a first-pass skills check to help experienced folks recognize whether this role is in their wheelhouse. We expect to hire and train entry-level techs as we grow, but the teammate we need right now is someone who can already work with a high degree of independence.
The role will begin part time while we ramp up operations, with the intention of becoming full time as the shop's workload grows. Pay will reflect your experience and how independently you can carry repairs from start to finish.
