Last week, I shared the why behind taking a social media break with my weekly email tribe (you should join us there!), but in short:

I need to create some space.

Space to connect more with my clients and students in my programs, space to clean up the internal areas of my business, space to enjoy more family time and rest — and summer is a great time for that!

So I won’t be content planning or posting to this IG page in June or July.

The cool thing is, you can still hear from me each week through my weekly emails, and there are so many other ways to learn from me and work with me! Swipe through for the deets :)

I would not advise you launch a business without a plan. I would not advise you try to take your business to the next level without a plan.

Why? Because you will inevitably waste precious resources like your time, money and energy.

Would you have a wedding without any plans?

Would you build a home without architectural plans?

Would you take a college course that had no strategic plan? “Give us your money and the professor will just figure things out along the way. It’ll be fine. You’ll definitely learn stuff.”

Haha no! That would not be wise.

In the same way, when you’re building a business that will make a huge impact in the lives of your customers, it requires having a strong foundation. You need a plan.

A business plan isn’t a one-page executive summary. It isn’t a marketing plan. It’s so much more.

The process of developing a strategic business plan doesn’t help you predict exactly what’s going to happen, it makes you answer some really hard questions, that if overlooked will be very costly and maybe even detrimental.

I had the honor of sharing my story with my church a couple of months ago. ✨

You’ll hear how it took a lot of “failure” to get to where I am today. Although those moments were really hard, I wouldn’t change a thing.

What’s your favorite failure?

Here’s mine…

I actually decided to leave New York to start a tea room business with my mom.

I was all in — developing the business plan, getting investors lined up… I even attended the World Tea Expo in Las Vegas to learn more about the tea industry. 🫖

But once I moved back to Texas, my mom flipped the script and decided it wasn’t the right timing.

I was devastated.

I’d left my favorite city in the world and a six-figure salary… to be a newlywed without a job feeling purposeless in my prime.

But had that tea business not failed (before it even really started 🙃) there would not have been space for to be born just one year later. 💪🏾
