Just a friendly reminder... PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. We shared this a few months ago but feel like it’s a good time to share this friendly reminder 😉 We know a lot of you are spending extra time online these days trying to pass the time during COVID-19. If you come across a "quick quiz" or a post on social media to share your personal information with your followers, please don't fill it out. It could give other people the ability to figure out your personal information. 🤔🚔

I haven't posted much here lately. Been fairly busy. I wanted to announce a new service. We now provide 35mm negative scans for still photographs as well as 35mm slides such as Kodachrome, Ektacrome, etc. We transfer the image at a very high resolution to a digital file that you can easily share with friends and family. The scan yields a higher quality image than most consumer and prosumer digital cameras can provide today. I anticipate we will be able to broaden this service over time to other film sizes. For now just 35mm negative scans and slides. Mainly because we have the equipment that is dedicated to just 35mm negatives and slides at the moment. Contact us if you are interested or want a quote. - Mike

Good Easter Sunday to our family of customers: At this time we are trying to limit exposure and follow the CDC guidelines. We see very few residential customers these days. We are suspending home visits until further notice. We are still continuing to serve our commercial clients. Everyone be safe out there.

The new IKEA in Norfolk is getting closer to their April 10th opening. Our guys installed the monitors for the cafe's there over the last few days. The Ikea is going to be a great asset to the city and if the pictures on the menu screens are to believed....the food is going to be awesome and affordable as well.

Buyer beware when it comes to purchasing printers! Remember when the guy at the big box store is insisting that you should get X or Y brand...usually HP or Cannon....that the sales person earns a spiff (special commission) for the particular model they are pushing more than likely. They also make money on that automatic ink refill service they are trying to sell you for certain brands of printers, most notably HP. They are not usually pitching what is best for you but what is best for them, store management and the corporate bottom line. Often these modern day sales people don't know anything about the product other than what their management supplied training material teaches them.

You as a consumer must go into the store educated, informed and fearless. The sales people will often steer you in a direction that isn't the best for you at the end of the day. Stick to your guns and go in and get what you researched and decided to purchase. Don't be influenced and decide to purchase what they tell you is a "better" and often "cheaper" alternative. Sometimes that "better" and "cheaper" option costs you a whole lot more on consumables and operating costs in the end.

One last word of advice on purchasing printers. If the sales person is trying to sell you the printer that they have stacks and stacks of on the sales floor then more often than not it isn't a good quality printer. These printers show up around Black Friday, Back to School and other big sales flyer holidays. There printers are often bottom barrel and will go through ink so fast you could have purchased three of the printers and spent less then you did on the ink for the printer in the first 30 days of use. You do get what you pay for.

I personally recommend Brother printers and scanners. Their ink is affordable and their products are of good quality. Their small office inkjet and laser printers are pretty good for most uses.

Epson is just the latest company to wage covert war on consumer choice.
