Service Above Self in Action!

The Shawnee Rotary Club recently had the opportunity to serve our community through a special service project at the Caring Collective. Our members rolled up their sleeves and got to work painting a common room that will soon be a welcoming space for residents!

The Caring Collective is a truly deserving organization that supports young adults aging out of foster care, as well as those who may be navigating life without the support of family. Their mission helps provide hope, stability, and a sense of community when it's needed most.

We are so excited to play a small part in helping create a space where these young adults can feel supported and at home.

Nominate a Rotary Peace Fellow for the 2027 Rotary Alumni Global Service Award! 🏆

Do you know a Rotary Peace Fellow whose career and activities illustrate the impact of Rotary’s programs on their service to humanity? Now is the time to recognize their achievements! Any member of the Rotary community can submit a nomination through 15 September.

The award honors one outstanding Rotary alum each year for exceptional humanitarian service and professional accomplishments. Notably, the 2025 and 2026 recipients were Rotary Peace Fellows, highlighting the fellowship’s influence in developing leaders who create meaningful change and remain engaged with Rotary. The recipient will be honored at the 2027 Rotary International Convention.

The award recognizes alumni who have:
✅ Achieved distinction in their profession or vocation
✅ Demonstrated sustainable service that benefits the international community
✅ Made a significant impact through their participation in the Rotary Peace Fellowship and other Rotary programs

Last Week, Shawnee Rotary Club was excited to welcome Daniel Johnson, Director of the Shawnee Forward Chamber of Commerce to speak at our meeting!

Daniel shared about the exciting future for the Chamber and how they are engaging businesses throughout our community to encourage growth, connection, and collaboration.
