FACT OR FICTION: "Mosquitoes are attracted to dark clothing."

This one's actually more true than most people expect. Mosquitoes use visual cues to locate hosts — and dark colors like navy, black, and deep red are significantly more visible against the sky and landscape than light colors.
But here's the catch: clothing color is just one factor in a surprisingly complex system of attraction. Carbon dioxide, body heat, skin bacteria, and lactic acid all play a role too.
The full picture is a lot more interesting than "wear white."
