Do you ever wake up at 2:00 AM wondering if the wheels are falling off?

Most owners manage by their gut.
They wait for the P&L at the end of the month to see how they did.
By then, it's too late. The damage is done.

That’s why we use the Scorecard™.

The Scorecard™ isn't just a list of numbers. It’s your early warning system.
It’s 5–15 weekly leading indicators that tell you exactly where the business is heading: not just where it’s been.

When you manage by the numbers, you stop guessing.

- You see the dip in activity before the revenue drops.
- You spot the service lag before the client calls to cancel.
- You identify the bottleneck before it becomes a crisis.

Data replaces anxiety with certainty.
And certainty is the only thing that will let you sleep through the night.

If you don't have a pulse on your business every week, you aren't leading. You're reacting.

How many weekly numbers are you actually tracking to predict your future?

Can you believe it’s late May?

We’re staring down the halfway point of 2026. For many business owners, this is where the January momentum starts to fizzle. The "whirlwind" of daily operations takes over, and those big goals you set in your V/TO® start gathering dust.

Don’t let the next six months be a repeat of the first.

In the EOS® world, we live in the 90-Day World®. It’s a pulse that keeps you focused. It prevents the drift. It forces you to stop and breathe every thirteen weeks.

Now is the perfect time to pull out your V/TO® (Vision/Traction Organizer®) and ask the hard questions:

1. Are we on track for our 1-Year Plan?
2. Are our current Rocks™ actually moving the needle, or just keeping us busy?
3. Does the leadership team still have a shared vision?

If you’re off track, don’t panic. Reset.

The best leaders aren’t the ones who never stumble; they’re the ones who recognize the drift and course-correct before it's too late. Use these next few weeks to realign your team and sharpen your focus for a massive second half of the year.

Are you hitting your 2026 targets? Let's talk about how you're feeling about the mid-year mark below.

I get it, but I bet those problems that "disappeared" are still there, they are just hiding. I think he discovered a symptom, and assumed it was the root of the problem.

Bolt CEO Ryan Breslow made headlines after firing the company’s entire HR department. He explained that the team was creating problems that didn’t exist, and those issues disappeared after they were let go.
Breslow stated that removing HR eliminated what he called a “complain culture,” allowing the company to focus more on building and shipping products. This move reflects a growing trend among some CEOs who believe bloated HR departments can sometimes hinder rather than help company performance.
The decision has sparked discussion online about the role of HR in modern workplaces and whether leaner structures can be more effective.

Running a family business shouldn’t mean sacrificing the family.

Lines get blurry. Accountability feels like a personal attack. Succession feels like a feud. Dinner table talks turn into heated P&L debates.

A recent Sioux Falls Business article on the Prairie Family Business Association webinar highlighted a truth: you must separate family from business to scale and keep harmony. Read the full article here: https://siouxfalls.business/to-operate-with-eos-or-not-family-businesses-weigh-what-to-consider/

The Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS®) provides the framework to do that. It moves the focus from the last name to the "Right Seat."

With the Accountability Chart™, family businesses can:
- Define clear roles independent of family status.
- Build a management cadence for multigenerational transitions.
- Align around a shared V/TO® (Vision/Traction Organizer®).
- Replace drama with objective data.

It’s not about being cold. It’s about building a structure where the business thrives and the family can be a family again.

Is your business ready to move beyond the last name? Let’s talk about how EOS® can help.

Leadership can be lonely.

Even for those of us who spend our days coaching leadership teams.

Every 90 days, I step out of my business to work on my business. But I don’t do it alone.

I join my peers for the Quarterly Collaborative Exchange™.

It is one of our 3 Uniques™ at EOS Worldwide®, but to me, it’s much more than a bullet point on a slide. It is the heartbeat of our community.

We gather to:
- Share what is working (and what isn't).
- Sharpen our skills.
- Support each other through the challenges of helping companies scale.

There is something incredibly powerful about being in a room full of people who share the same core values and the same mission: helping entrepreneurs get what they want from their businesses.

No egos. No competition. Just a collective commitment to lifelong learning.

I always leave these sessions with a full tank, ready to bring that renewed energy back to the leadership teams I serve.

We tell our clients that they need a 90-Day World® to stay aligned. We practice exactly what we preach.

How are you making time to sharpen your saw this quarter?

"Love is not a feeling. Love is a choice to help, and not to harm. To achieve the Greater Good, even when I feel angry, hurt, or afraid, I will choose to act constructively, not selfishly or destructively.” Don Tinney

When I show up for a client, I am there to help, and to love. Always.

The 5-year plan is dead.

In 2026, if you’re still trying to predict exactly where your business will be in 60 months, you’re not planning: you’re guessing.

The pace of change has moved beyond our ability to map it out years in advance. What worked in January is often obsolete by June.

That’s why the most successful leadership teams I work with have stopped obsessing over the distant horizon and started living in the 90-Day World™.

Why 90 days?

- It’s long enough to get meaningful work done.
- It’s short enough to stay focused and pivot when the market shifts.
- It creates a healthy pulse of accountability.

We still have a 10-Year Target™ for vision. But the ex*****on happens in the trenches, one quarter at a time.

When you break your vision down into 90-day Rocks®, you stop being reactive and start being agile. You gain the freedom to adjust without losing sight of the goal.

Is your team still trying to execute a plan from 2024, or are you operating in the 90-Day World™?

Let’s talk about it in the comments.

As an EOS implementer we have a community that provides amazing support. It's one of the unique things about being an implementer. I enjoyed the spring QCE very much.

Horrible picture of me there to prove I have no shame!
What in the world am I doing with my face?????

It would be a shame if someone were to caption it 😉

Success shouldn't feel this heavy.

You’re hitting your numbers. Revenue is up. The business is "winning."

So why does it feel like you’re dragging a lead weight up a mountain?

This is the "Quiet Crisis" of success.

When your leadership team isn't healthy, growth becomes a burden rather than an achievement. You’re making money, but you’re also making compromises. You’re dealing with:

- Internal politics and hidden agendas.
- The same issues resurfacing every single week.
- A lack of trust that forces you to micromanage.

High revenue can mask a lot of dysfunction, but it can’t fix it.

In the EOS® (Entrepreneurial Operating System®) framework, the "Healthy" component is non-negotiable. A leadership team that is open, honest, and vulnerable is the engine of sustainable growth. Without it, you’re just building a bigger, more expensive birdcage.

If your team isn't healthy, your success will eventually plateau: or it will break you.

Is your revenue growth starting to feel like a burden?

You don't need more hours in the day. You need more clarity.

Most business owners are trapped in the "working in it" cycle. You’re fighting fires, answering endless messages, and losing sight of the big picture. When you’re stuck in the weeds, organizational alignment always suffers.

The most powerful tool in the Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS®) toolkit is also the simplest: The Clarity Break™.

It’s not a luxury. It’s a leadership discipline.

Here is how to make it work:
1. Schedule it. Put it on your calendar like a meeting with your most important client.
2. Get away. Leave the office. No phone. No email.
3. Use a legal pad. Just you and your thoughts.

Taking time away from the business actually speeds you up. It clears the mental fog and ensures you’re moving toward your Vision instead of just reacting to the noise.

When you have a clear head, your team gets a clear leader. That is how true alignment is built.

Stop reacting. Start leading.

When was the last time you took a real Clarity Break™?
