Hi, my name is Christy. Julie and I have been very close friends for over 20 years! God crossed our paths when we least expected it and I am ever so thankful he did. Julie and Philip are two of the most giving people I have ever met. They are the first to help anyone at anytime. Including myself during some of the most difficult times of my life. They have done numerous benefits through their store, dropped everything to help feed the fine folks in North Carolina when hurricane helene hit just to name a few. It’s our turn to help them out.
As most of you know Julie has been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Philip has had to put his work on hold to care for her. She had her surgery double mastectomy with total removal of the right side lymph nodes. They have gave their blessing for us to have a benefit for her. Our plan is as follows:
Friday October 2nd we will have a benefit dinner at the store from 10:30-7:30 unless we run out before 7:30.
We will be having a small Silent Auction that will begin online Friday September 25th online bidding will end on Thursday October 1st and the items will be available to bid on at the store the day of the dinner. Will go live at the end of the benefit the day of to announce the winners of the items.
If you would like to donate to the silent auction a new item/gift basket please message me. You can drop off to me or the store. We will need the silent auction items before the 25th.
Examples: hunting basket, coffee basket, fall or Christmas themed basket, homemade quilt. Please nothing used!
Normally Julie and Philip cover the expenses for the food while having benefit dinners.
We anticipate food expenses to be around $600-$800. If anyone feels lead to donate towards the food. You can message, drop off to the store or to me. If writing a check please make out to the Newton store, Julie or Philip Linger.
All proceeds will go directly to The Linger’s to help with medical expenses, bills and gas money.
