With about a month of school behind us, what are your struggles and how can we help? Our tutoring services are not a one size fits all solution. We have adopted an individualized approach rooted in supporting executive function skills. Call or email today, 585-491-5104 or [email protected]

The theme for our first year was simple: The Power of Possibility.

From the beginning, we wanted Blue Heron Collective to be a place where individuals and families could see that real opportunities exist.

Being on the west side of Monroe County was intentional. Transportation can be a major barrier for families, so having Blue Heron Collective and Marge’s Bakery & Bites just down the road from one another allows us to create opportunities for both education and employment within the same community.

We didn’t know exactly who would walk through our doors in year one, but we knew we wanted to build strong relationships, connect with like-minded organizations, and become a resource families could count on.

For families, that means support.

For individuals, that means opportunity.

And for us, that’s what the Power of Possibility is all about.

What if employment wasn't just about getting a job?

What if it was about discovering what you're good at?

Building confidence.

Learning responsibility.

Contributing to something bigger than yourself.

Being part of a team.

Having a paycheck.

And knowing:

“I did this.”

That's part of the vision behind Marge's Bakery and Bites.

Marge's is more than a bakery.

It is becoming an opportunity to put inclusive employment into action.

Through this micro-hub, we're creating opportunities for individuals to develop skills in areas such as:

~ Food preparation
~ Packaging
~ Money handling
~ Inventory
~ Customer service
~ Marketing
~ Teamwork
~ Workplace responsibility

This is what Mission Into Action looks like.

Not simply talking about inclusion.

Creating places where inclusion can happen.

Have you noticed the class YouTube Star listed on our community classes calendar?

In YouTube Star, we turn people's passions into productions that can be shared with the world. This takes a lot of planning and persistence because we don't just record videos. We research, draft scripts, record and edit. We have to trouble shoot through technology glitches and we learn a lot about ourselves along the way.

Take a look at this video from Tim, sharing information about Harriet Tubman...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_ZPL4mCrVE&t=364s

Did you know that this past Monday evening, September 14th, 2026, Spencerport Rotary Club celebrated its 50th Anniversary?

Over those 50 years, we have completed countless projects that have supported our community including building buddy benches at the elementary schools, garden boxes at Aurora House, donations to Eagle Star, donations to Eagle Scout projects and other community organizations, scholarships to high school students, supporting literacy in the school district and so much more.

Please consider purchasing a Beef on Weck dinner this Sunday, 9/20 from noon until 4pm at the Fireman's Exempt and help us with the first fundraiser of our next 50 years!

Why food?

Because food brings people together. It creates connection, common ground, and conversation.

But for us, Marge’s Bakery & Bites represents something even bigger.

It gave us a way to take the mission behind Blue Heron Collective and put it into action.

A real job creates accountability. It builds skills. It encourages growth. It gives people the opportunity to interact, gain confidence, and experience things that simply can’t always be taught inside a classroom.

You can learn a skill anywhere but until you’re given the opportunity to apply it in the real world, you may never realize what you’re truly capable of.

That’s why Marge’s exists.
