Hi everyone!!
Sorry it has been a while since I last posted. Summer has been busy, but in a good way!
My heart is full from time with my family🩷
My clients are amazing and I am grateful for them every day!
I was sitting down to do my end of week paperwork and thought I should share a little snap of what you may not realize goes into pricing for any business. Big or small!
Sure we have our supply cost, that one’s a given. Of course the cost of gas, and labor.
Did you know that we also have taxes?Insurance? Business registration costs? Replacement costs, such as vehicle? Maintenance cost for the vehicle? Software and app costs? These are all still just business expenses.
Did you know we also have to account for personal expenses too?
Food on our table. Roof over our head. Clothes and shoes. Retirement. Health insurance. A vacation fund because we all deserve a break.
These are all the expenses that are taken out before a business can show a profit. I know I’m even forgetting some things.
Every quote I give isn’t just a number pulled out of thin air. It is carefully thought out. I have a base number that I cannot go under or I can’t pay what I need to business or personal.
Example: I take 25% from each client payment that goes straight into a taxes account. I don’t touch this money until tax time. If I get paid $100 for a home that’s $25 already gone. $75 left to cover business and personal expenses. There is no profit, and honestly, very little to cover expenses.
You wouldn’t want to get paid from your corporate job and realize you can’t pay for any of your expenses, would you? I wouldn’t think so! What would be the point of working?!
I am posting this to bring awareness for all businesses! More so small businesses, yes, but all businesses big and small have overhead whether you can see it or not.
I LOVE what I do and I love my clients that have helped me build this beautiful business over the past year!
