You're the one people count on.
You solve the problems nobody else wants to touch.
You lead the projects, support the team, and step up when things get difficult.
You're already doing the work of someone in a higher position.
But the title? Still the same.
The paycheck? Still the same.
The recognition? Well… you're still waiting.
And when you ask about moving up, you hear those familiar words: "Just keep doing what you're doing. Your time will come."
But when?
I want to speak directly to the woman who's tired of hearing that.
Especially my Black women in corporate America who have worked twice as hard, carried responsibilities beyond their job descriptions, and still wondered why their contributions weren't enough.
Here's something I learned during my years in corporate HR leadership:
Being great at your job doesn't automatically mean people will recognize you as ready for the next level.
I wish it worked that way. But it doesn't always.
Sometimes you have to stop waiting for someone to notice and start being intentional about your career.
That means learning how to speak confidently about your accomplishments, building relationships with people who influence decisions, and asking direct questions about your advancement.
And please hear me on this…
You don't have to become someone you're not to get ahead.
You don't have to be louder, more aggressive, or pretend to be someone else.
You just need the right strategy to make sure your leadership value is seen and understood.
Because being overlooked doesn't mean you're not qualified.
And being undervalued doesn't mean you're not valuable.
❤️ Your experience matters. Your contributions matter. YOU matter.
But there comes a point when you have to stop waiting for someone else to recognize what you bring to the table.
✨ It's time to move from OVERLOOKED to UNSTOPPABLE.
If you're ready to become more visible, respected, and confident in your leadership journey, I'd love to talk with you.
