As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, here’s your reminder that networking should support your growth, not drain your energy. 🌱

The best connections are built when you can show up as your full self. 💛

Meet the people who help bring RISE to life! 💼 Get to know the faces behind the mission and what inspires them personally and professionally.

Meet our Special Projects Chair, Josh Johnson, Assistant Vice President, Loan Officer, at Hickory Point Bank & Trust!

Q: How did you first get involved with RISE?
A: I began attending RISE events to connect with fellow young professionals and build meaningful relationships. Through these experiences, I quickly recognized the Chamber’s commitment to RISE and its dedication to creating opportunities for emerging business leaders in Springfield to collaborate, grow, and develop professionally. Joining the RISE Executive Committee was an easy decision and has been incredibly rewarding.

Q: Why do you think RISE is important for young professionals in our community?
A: RISE creates valuable opportunities for young professionals to connect with like-minded individuals who are driven to grow as people, employees, and leaders. By fostering learning and collaboration, RISE helps members build connections that support individual growth and contribute to a stronger, more dynamic community.

Q: What is one skill you’ve developed or strengthened through your involvement with RISE?
A: RISE has helped me strengthen my ability to step outside of my comfort zone. Early on, it was easy to gravitate toward familiar faces at networking events. RISE consistently provides opportunities to challenge that tendency through conversations with new people, volunteer initiatives, and leadership development programs. These experiences have helped me grow more confident, adaptable, and open to new connections.

Q: What advice would you give to someone thinking about getting more involved? Just do it!
A: Just do it! Take advantage of every opportunity to get involved in your community. I have never regretted attending a networking event, serving on a board, or building a new relationship. By connecting with the right people, which RISE consistently facilitates, you open the door to meaningful opportunities that can positively shape your career and future.
