The most common thing people tell me is some version of this: "I'm too old to start something new."

I get it. But I want to gently push back.

You're not too old. You're too experienced to keep believing that.

Think about what "too old" actually means here. It means you've worked. You've managed people, or solved problems, or survived things that would flatten a 25-year-old. It means you have judgment that only comes from years.

The people who struggle to start over aren't the ones who waited too long. They're the ones who decided their years were a liability instead of the asset they actually are.

And the tools finally caught up. What used to take a team and a budget, you can now do with AI and an afternoon. The only thing standing between you and starting is the story that it's too late.

It isn't. You're never too old to learn something new. You just need a place to start.

If you've been reading along thinking "okay… but where would I even start?" — I made something for exactly that.

It's called the Blueprint, and it's free. A short, guided workbook that walks you through the very first step: finding the one thing inside your own experience that you could actually build on.

No pitch. No "course." Just the first real step — the same one I'd give anyone starting over.

You're never too old to learn something new. You just need a little guidance, and a push to get started.

I'll drop the link in the first comment. 👇

Here's something that took me too long to figure out: you don't need one perfect AI. You need a small team — and you need to know what each one is good at.

This is how I actually work now:

→ One AI is my builder — it writes, codes, and executes.
→ One is my strategist — it helps me decide what to do, and in what order.
→ One is my creative — ideas, angles, the look and feel.
→ One is my writer — drafts and wording when I'm stuck.

I'm not "using AI." I'm directing a team, the same way a business owner directs employees. And here's the part that matters for you: two years ago, I couldn't have told you the difference between any of them.

You don't have to learn all of this overnight. Start with one. Get comfortable. Add the next when you're ready.

The goal was never to become a tech expert. It's to stop doing everything alone.

You are not starting from zero.

If you've lived, worked, failed, survived, or started over — you're carrying experience most people would pay for.

The problem was never that you had nothing to offer. The problem was that nobody handed you the tools to turn it into something.

That part just changed.

You are not starting from zero. You are starting from experience.

When you're rebuilding, the hardest part isn't the work. It's knowing where to start.

So I built a simple path. I call it A.S.H.E.S. — five steps to turn what you already have into something that's yours:

A — Assess. Take inventory of your skills, your story, even your setbacks. (Yes, those count.)

S — Shape. Find the one offer hiding inside your experience.

H — Hone your brand. Make it look and sound like you — and like something people trust.

E — Engineer. Build the simple systems — with AI doing the heavy lifting — that run it.

S — Scale. Grow it at the pace your life allows.

You don't do all five at once. You take the first step, then the next. That's the whole secret — most people never start because they're trying to see the entire staircase instead of just the first stair.

I'll break down each step here over the next while.

Which step are you stuck on right now? Tell me in the comments. 👇

Most people try AI once, get a mediocre answer, and decide "it's not for me."

That first answer is almost never the good one. The real skill isn't the question you ask — it's what you do next.

Here's the habit that changed everything for me:

When the AI gives you something flat, don't walk away. Push back. Tell it exactly what was wrong:
- "Too generic — give me three specific examples."
- "That's not my situation. Here's what's actually going on…"
- "Rewrite this like you're talking to a friend, not a textbook."

Every time you push back, it gets sharper. I've watched answers go from useless to genuinely excellent in three rounds — just by refusing to accept the first one.

You don't need to be technical. You just need to be stubborn.

Try it today: take any answer AI gives you and reply with "make this better — and here's why." Watch what happens.

There's a kind of sick that doesn't come with a warning.

Mine came overnight. One day I was working; the next, I was living with a spinal cord injury and a condition called autonomic dysreflexia that touches every part of my day. There are hours I can work, and hours my body simply takes back.

For a while, I thought that was the end of the story. The only work I knew required me to physically show up — and I couldn't anymore.

Here's what I've learned since: a setback can take your old path without taking your future. Everything I've built over the last two years, I built from inside this. Not because I'm special. Because I refused to believe the wall in front of me was the end of the road.

If you're staring at a wall right now — I see you. It might not be the end. It might be the starting line.

Two years ago, I had never used AI. Today, it runs everything I build.

I wasn't a tech guy. I was the #1 timeshare closer in Branson, Missouri — until Covid shut the room down and I got sick, overnight, in a way that ended the only kind of work I knew.

So I had to rebuild from scratch. And the thing that changed everything wasn't a course or a coach. It was me, arguing with an AI on my phone, refusing to accept a weak answer — until I figured out how to make these tools actually work.

This page is for the person who needs to rebuild. Whatever knocked you down — a layoff, an illness, an industry that moved on — your experience didn't disappear. In this era, you can compete out there. Your story is your proof.

I'll be sharing what I've learned: how everyday people are using AI to turn skills, setbacks, and story into a real business — built on a simple framework I call A.S.H.E.S.

You are not starting from zero. You are starting from experience.

Follow along if you're ready to rebuild. 🔥
