Allow mee to reintroduce myself… My name is Jeanne (like in a bottle). And I help emerging writers pivot into the UX field with ease by helping them build a portfolio that attracts high-value writing jobs and prep for interviews.

I have over 11 years of experience in driving a wide variety of digital and print projects and products. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with retail and CPG businesses, software companies, and online publishers.

Using this knowledge, I teach scalable content design solutions to people problems and business challenges that accommodate different teams and stakeholders involved.

After working with me, clients have been able to land positions in tech, change industries, and build assets that helped them get there.

Outside of work, you can find me trying new recipes, checking out contemporary art, or taking photographs in Forest Park.

Are you sure you want to say “are you sure?!” Sounds like a trick question, right? Exactly! So, just go ahead and eliminate that from your vocab—right now!

Don't overload the user by putting blame and tricky decisions on them. Instead, describe the actions they are about to commit to and make sure the headers and CTAs align and communicate that clearly. Simple. That’s the point, really: making things plain and meaningful.

Product work is highly collaborative. As a , it's important to learn to effectively communicate your points to create stakeholder buy-in, win respect, and influence people. Here are some tips to help you get there...

💬 Avoid tech jargon with non-tech teams. Stop speaking your language, start talking theirs or you'll lose them.

📣 Socialize what you do to help others understand your value. Share guides, 1-pagers, results, and data that support your role.
📈 Don't describe your ideas as "UX changes," but communicate how your recommendations support people and business goals.

🙌 Respect others in meetings. Let them complete their thoughts and have a voice. Everybody's point is valid.
🛑 Stop saying "yes" to everything. This role is all about collaborating, not being told what to do.
🗓 Don't wait to be given a seat at the table, invite yourself to meetings and create meetings and syncs, too.

I hope this makes life at work easier. Let me know what you think or if you have anything to add! And, remember, we're all human and respect and approachability always go a long way!

An old boss once told me that when she creates teams and hires people, she thinks about who would be friends! I totally get that now. Research by LinkedIn found that 46% of people believe having friendships at work boosts overall happiness.

And, if I leave a job and I feel like I don’t have any friends, I take that as a huge loss!!

i’ve known the ladies in this picture since the beginning of my career, and my first tech job back in 2014. Not only did they make work a better place but they have supported me throughout my career and personal life ever since!

if you don’t have any work friends, get you some!

This one is for everyone who has something important to share, but are doubting themselves.

For those hiding their gifts…
Their vision…
Their passion…
Whether out of fear,
Worry,
Trauma,
Or that lying feeling of unworthiness.
This one is for you.

You are brilliant.
You are enough.
You matter.

What you have to say is exactly what someone, somewhere, in this very moment, needs to hear.

That video you’re thinking about recording…
That course you’re thinking about launching…
That podcast you’re considering starting…
Those words you're itching to start writing…
They are the key someone is looking for to unlock a new essence of greatness.
In case you needed that extra push.
This one is for you.

and are here for you.

And we want to share this reminder:

Hint: It’s You
