Especially if you’ve been pouring all your time and effort into them. 😭

The reason most projects get canceled is they lack these three things:

❎ Alignment on the problem
❎ Shared information across teams
❎ A strategy road map

Your lab timer can be a powerful tool in a lab meeting and I don't mean using it as a "check my gel" to get out of the meeting hall pass. (We've all done it.)

Putting a time limit on your speakers is not rude, it's effective time management.

Timeboxing

1. It controls who speaks and for how long.
2. You can keep the talk on the topic.
3. You will have shorter focused meetings.

Tip: Make the timer visible to the speaker so they focus on the most important information.

Normal progress report lab meetings eventually devolve into open discussion nightmares that result in more follow-up meetings.

A good meeting needs two things. A structure and a facilitator. Turning your meeting into a mini-workshop gives you both.

Ever been in one of those lab meetings where you're asked if you have any ideas for the problem at hand?

You know you do, but the second you start to think of some, someone speaks up, then another, then another.

In the end, no one's ideas are really settled on and another meeting is scheduled.

The problem is no one is really listening because everyone is thinking of their own ideas.

What if you could access everyone's ideas and collectively choose the best ones at the same time?

I'm working on a method that does just that and I can't wait to share it with you.
