Doing your family's genealogy is great, but the work must continue in writing down and preserving those treasured family oral histories and writing your ancestor's stories. You are their mouthpiece and voice. Let their stories and struggles be known. Like I always say, Genealogy is a never ending journey.

What's in a name? Your identity and values are in your name. According to the book Red River by Lalita Tademy, in chapter 7, as a slave all you had was your name. Names are vital to know whose you are, where you come from, and family values. Without a name our ancestors would be unknown. Call out the names of your ancestors. Let the unknown become known and therefore honored.
