If people are going to tag this dusty old sight I might need to post things here.

Here is something I wrote a long time ago.

I woke up wanting to talk about white people and men — with love.

Managing expectations means setting them properly and that requires we listen and discern and position with accuracy.

A constant probing. It is a decided stance of porousness to the world of others in order to ascertain and predict with accuracy.

How can I deliver to you what you desire if I have not asked you to tell me and listened closely to the answer? Most recruiters project their desires upon their candidates and clients and that is, after all, only human. The more I can resist that most human of all behaviors the more clarity I will achieve, the better situations I can craft and the more wins that benefit everyone involved.

I love what I do for a living sometimes because it allows me to refine my understanding of human motivations and decision making and how to craft solutions that maximize wins for all.

I hate what I do for a living sometimes because all of this listening and positioning is exhausting AF.

I OFTEN FEEL LIKE SISYPHUS AND HIS DAMN ROCK.

I'm fortunate the love is more than the hate in this moment, in most moments, but goodness gracious there are days.

On business conducting business in turbulent times:

Uncertainty creates a need to center the most vulnerable or those with less benefit of institutional power. It is most skillful to work to protect those most at risk.

We all have to make difficult choices but they are made more palatable by emphasizing humane actions and good communication in the doing.

One area often ignored is how our actions impact relationships. Is what I am doing and the way I am doing it strengthening trust or eroding it?

The way we communicate matters, when we communicate matters, how we communicate matters.

We often have a dearth of imagination in these areas and so trust is eroded and harm occurs.

Notes on resumes

A resume is not you. A resume is a thought argument crafted specifically in relation to a particular position to earn a conversation.

A job description is more like a jigsaw puzzle representation of what a role will be that the truth and the life. It has a general narrative, much like your resume should. Many important things are not included.

You should literally use the words in a job posting to describe your experience on a resume tailored for that role. Yes, this means heavy customization, but it will make you irresistible.

You should have a professional summary where you describe yourself in a way that makes it clear you can accomplish the general narrative listed in the job description using their words.

Do not be afraid to apply for jobs where you do not have everything they need or want but tell them why you can ramp up quickly. Address your gaps by comparing similar things you have done - tools, accomplishments, situations.

Building a bridge between your experience and a particular position is the goal. The better the bridge the better your chances of getting an interview.

Oh hey!

If you know any C # people looking for a change I have an especially good possibility. The company is in Atlanta but you can be anywhere! One must be able to travel to Atlanta peridocially.

They are creating products that do real time tracking of produce to grocery stores from the field to the table.

Windows development, C #, Angular are key - and I mean gotta be solid - and some mapping or mobile would be a plus.

Experience working remote is helpful.

They want someone who wants to be part of a good team and the team is reasonable and decent and smart.

Lets talk!
