Today is extra special because I get to celebrate and introduce someone who has been a key part of COMB Collective behind the scenes since last fall.

has been supporting client work across social media creation, scheduling, and day-to-day ex*****on. She is incredibly organized, detail-oriented, and the kind of person who keeps everything running smoothly without needing the spotlight.

On a personal note, she’s also my sister, which makes this even more meaningful.

She’s been going along with my crazy ideas since we were younger… including the time I decided it was a good idea to measure the length of her hair with a tape measure. You can see how that turned out.

We’ve gone from growing up together to now working alongside each other, building something with intention and purpose. That’s not something I take for granted.

Jennifer was the first person to join and I’m especially grateful for the trust, consistency, and partnership she brings to the work every day.

There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes to make things look seamless for our clients, and she is a big part of that.

Happy Birthday, Jennifer. Grateful for you in more ways than one.

In the middle of running a business, managing clients, and keeping everything moving, it’s easy to stay in “go mode” all day.

But this morning, I stepped away for 45 minutes to sit in a school gym at 9am and watch my son perform.

That’s the part people don’t always talk about. Building a business isn’t always easy. It’s not all wins and highlight moments. It takes discipline, tradeoffs, and a lot of behind-the-scenes work.

But the flexibility to show up for moments like that? That’s the reason I built it this way.

As we head into the busiest season for working parents… field trips, end-of-year projects, performances, field day, and everything in between… the calendar fills up fast.

And somehow, we’re expected to be in two places at once.

So I’m curious…
How are you making it work?
How do you carve out time to show up for your kids while still keeping your work moving forward?

Drop your tips below.

A big milestone for 🎉

Over 200% Instagram growth in under a year and now crossing the 1K follower mark.

This is what happens when strong providers, a committed in-office team, and a clear, consistent marketing strategy all work together. From patient experience to content to brand positioning, every piece matters.

We’ve had the opportunity to support Osiris behind the scenes managing their marketing and social media, helping bring their story, results, and expertise to life online. When that ex*****on aligns with a team that shows up every day and delivers for their patients, growth follows.

A huge congrats to the Osiris Medical Spa team for building something that continues to gain traction the right way.

Some days, running a business looks like this.

Laptop open on the sidelines. Hotspot on. Emails in between school pick up and sports practices, while still catching the moments that matter.

It is not always a perfectly structured office or uninterrupted time. It is learning how to operate in both worlds, showing up for your clients and your family at the same time.

Grateful for the flexibility to build a business this way. And even more grateful for clients who trust me to take care of their marketing, strategy, and social media so I can be present where it matters most.

This is what it really looks like behind the scenes.

If you are a working parent, I’d love to hear how you juggle it all in your world.

5 things I do before every sales call that haven’t failed me over the last 20 years 🎉🤯

🏋🏼‍♀️Move your body the morning of the call
🎶Listen to a pump up play list - loudly
💃🏼Add in some dance moves to get the energy and good vibes flowing
🪞Practice saying your pitch or slides out loud. This is so important! Saying it out loud forces you to slow down and really think about the tone, speed and overall feel of what you are trying to say in the meeting
🎉Just got for it! Give it 110% regardless of how big the pitch, every meeting matters and you never know where it will lead

Would love to learn what others do to prepare?!?

I’m heading to San Francisco for the Lean In Leaders Conference—joining 70 women from around the world who are leading networks, driving change, and shaping conversations about the workforce, economy, and equity.

It’s my first solo trip in nearly three years, and honestly… I’m feeling equal parts grateful, excited, and a little bit of imposter syndrome that I get to be in the room with these incredible, dynamic leaders. Representing St. Louis and our local Lean In community at this level feels surreal and deeply humbling.

We’ll be learning, sharing, and connecting on what’s next for women in leadership. And I’ll have the chance to sit down for lunch with Sheryl Sandberg herself.

I’d love to bring your questions and topics with me to the conference and I’ll report back on what I learn and the insights I gather from these global leaders.

If you could ask Sheryl one question about leadership, balance, or what women in business need most right now what would it be?

Going to miss these little people of mine, but also hope to make them proud!

Some things really do run in your DNA.

Long before Moving Beyond Capacity Co existed, I was this little girl tagging along to river industry events with my dad and grandfather—two entrepreneurs who built Memco Barge Line from the ground up. Watching them turn ideas into something real is where my love for business began.

My dad taught me that work ethic means doing what’s right all the time—even when no one’s watching—and that taking care of the customer always comes first. He also taught me that curiosity matters just as much as hard work: ask questions, learn something new every day, and never assume you’ve arrived.

And maybe the creative flair came from my grandfather… who once wore a light purple suit to a company christening in the 1980s—unafraid to stand out and take center stage.

Here’s to the generations who showed me what it means to build boldly, lead with integrity, stay curious, and never blend in.
