Complete Chimney Restoration | Start to Finish in a Single Day
Every chimney we take on begins with documentation, not demolition. An aerial inspection established the condition of this structure before a single tool touched the masonry: open mortar joints throughout, spalled brick, failing paint, and a compromised crown.
The scope of work:
Surface preparation. The chimney was pressure washed to remove the failing coating and expose the true condition of the brick and joints.
Joint preparation. Deteriorated mortar was raked out to proper depth across the entire structure. This is the step that determines whether a repair lasts a decade or a season. New mortar requires a clean, square profile to bond to. Applied over a failing joint, it is cosmetic work with a short life.
Structural repair. Ten brick had degraded beyond serviceable condition. Each was cut out and replaced with a matched unit to restore the integrity of the stack.
Tuckpointing. Every joint repointed, top to bottom. Full restoration rather than selective patching.
Crown, primer, and finish. A new crown was poured, the cap reset, masonry primer applied to all four faces, and the finish coat brought the structure back to a sealed, weather-tight condition.
Completed in one day.
A chimney takes more weather exposure than any other element of a home and receives the least attention. Water enters an open joint, freezes, and expands. The damage progresses from the inside out, and by the time it becomes visible indoors the conversation is no longer about masonry.
