Well Justin I finally got my Hy-Gain/Cushcraft LFA-6M7EL up yesterday. I don't know how much input you had on the antenna but I followed the directions and measurements to a T. It WORKS GREAT! Also the Balun I purchased from you might have did the trick on how it tuned. I built the antenna on my concrete driveway, added your Balun and 150ft. of LMR 400UF coax and my RigExpert 55 Zoom Analyzer and it showed a perfect match. Well I didn't believe it and did another test with my MFJ Analyzer and it showed the same thing at 50.125. So I moved the frequency to 50.313 and it was 1.1:0. This was done on a 8ft piece of Fence post. I called out a bucket truck and put it up to 60ft, brought the coax into the shack and read the same thing. Just unbelievable.

Hello Martin, I hope this finds you well. I wanted to share this photo for your Cushcraft folks. You have probably seen on the news regarding our big wind storm we experienced in Iowa last week. Recorded winds in our town, Marion were 112 MPH!!! There was major tree and structure damage all over the area. Our home had two windows broken from flying debris and a storage shed was totally destroyed. We didn't have power until Monday, seven days without power. That sets up the reason for this text. My tower is 40 feet tall and the Cushcraft D-40 antenna is at the forty-two foot level. The pictures shows my Cushcraft D-40 on the tower after our 112 MPH wind storm! One side is drooping a little but I checked the VSWR this morning and it works just fine. Nice to hear from you. We should be down to Mississippi the first part of October. I purchased your 37-foot mast and I want to purchase the tripod for it, so I'll give you a call before coming down and we can have lunch. 73s AA0KW
