That’s how much food waste the Zelda’s family has kept out of the landfill since August 11th!

Yep, you read that right. Just over TWO months, a handful of households, one local restaurant, and over 1,000 pounds of food waste that didn’t end up in the landfill!

Imagine what we could accomplish if a few more families and businesses joined in. 💚

To everyone who’s been part of this journey so far, THANK YOU! You’re proving that you don’t need a crowd to make a difference.

Hosting friends? Having a football watch party? Enjoying a weekend with family?

Now think about how many bags of garbage you'll carry to the trash can by Sunday night. 🤔

🦈 We’re gonna need a bigger bin! ♻️😂

Well, the results are in, and let’s just say our first food waste pickup from Sharpe’s Café was a LOT heavier than anyone expected!

🎉 Congratulations to Cynthia Suszycki, our “Guess the Weight” contest winner! With the closest guess 250 lbs

But the real star of this story? 🌟 Sharpe’s Café!

We want to give a HUGE shoutout to the team at Sharpe’s for taking a step toward a more sustainable community by choosing to compost their food waste instead of sending it to the landfill.

Here’s something worth thinking about: If ONE restaurant can collect this much compostable material from just ONE pickup, imagine the difference we could make if more local restaurants joined in!

Food waste adds up quickly, but so does the positive impact when businesses decide to do something different.

Our residential members have already helped us keep **150 pounds of food waste** out of the landfill — and now we’re so excited to welcome **Sharpe's Cafe** to the Zelda’s family. 💚

This will be our very first commercial pickup, so naturally… we’re making a little game out of it..

It's as easy as sign up, we'll drop off your bucket to your house, you follow the handbook, and just put it on your porch for easy and clean pick up!
You will receive a card that will be dropped off with your bucket, in addition to an email, that tells you exactly when your next pick up is.
