Listen, I need to tell you about something that happened in my ministry last month that completely blew my mind...
A woman we call her name "Sarah"came to me absolutely desperate. She'd been a believer for 15 years, served faithfully in church, tithed regularly, prayed every day - but she felt like she was living under a glass ceiling she couldn't break through.
Prophet,she said with tears in her eyes, "I feel spiritually heavy all the time. Like I'm carrying invisible weights that I can't put down. My grandmother struggled with depression, my mother battled anxiety and poverty, and now I'm dealing with the exact same things. I've prayed, I've fasted, I've been to deliverance sessions - but nothing sticks. What's wrong with me?
Here's what's crazy - I used to ask myself that exact same question.
You see, there's something the enemy doesn't want you to understand about spiritual bo***ge. Most believers think if they're saved, they should automatically be free. But salvation gets you into the kingdom - it doesn't automatically break every yoke that was placed on your bloodline before you got there.
Isaiah 10:27 says "the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing." Notice it doesn't say the yoke disappears when you get saved. It says it gets DESTROYED by the anointing. That's an active process, not a passive one.
So I asked Sarah: "What if the heaviness you feel isn't your fault, but it's not your permanent reality either? What if there are specific yokes - invisible spiritual chains - that have been passed down through your family line, and God has given you the authority and anointing to destroy them once and for all?
Her eyes lit up. "You mean this isn't just 'how I am'?
Absolutely not," I told her. "You're not defective. You're not cursed. You're not stuck. You're just carrying yokes that were never meant for you to bear.
That's when I walked her through the principles I reveal in Chapter 1 of my new book "BREAK EVERY YOKE." We identified three specific generational yokes: The Poverty Yoke, The Depression Yoke, and The Limitation Yoke.
Three weeks later, Sarah called me crying again - but this time they were tears of joy.
Prophet, I can't explain it, but the heaviness is gone. For the first time in years, I wake up feeling light. My husband got a promotion he'd been passed over for three times. My teenage daughter, who's been battling the same depression I struggled with, is laughing again."
What's cool is this: Sarah didn't need more faith. She needed to understand how to operate in the yoke-destroying anointing that was already hers.
You weren't born to survive - you were born to thrive. That heaviness you feel? That's not your portion. Those limitations that seem to follow your family? Those aren't your inheritance.
