Less than a month to go before my first event if the year. Fitness is coming along pretty well but this profile is intimidating with it getting harder as the miles tick off. I know I’ll be fighting off cramps at some point.

Another long indoor training session in the books, but I’ve decided to change my training tactics for the next 3-4 weeks. Intensity in the workout will certainly advance your fitness level but I think my priority is different than other years. Covid combined with an intense job change has put me 15+ pounds over normal. So, I am going to put in longer, Zone 2 (Endurance) rides without worrying about intensity level, to maximize fat burning and (hopefully) weight loss. I’ll keep posting here to let you know how it goes.

I don’t know which one to drink first!

Longest ever ride on the indoor trainer. 2 1/2 hours straight up Mont Ventoux. Felt better than I thought I would considering my poor fitness level. Hopefully this is the just the beginning of feeling better. Cheers!

So, I am selling my personal gravel bike to a client who’s getting back into cycling. It’ll be a great, solid platform to get comfortable. But, those damn front wheel bearings were due to be replaced so I got to dust off my bearing puller and press. Strangely satisfying.

I get to tuneup this beautiful bike! In my younger days, and much poorer status, I lusted after Colnago’s. I would’ve put Campagnolo on it, but whatever 😏
